Emergency Wound Closure Strips - 2pk - Laceration Closure Kit - Stitchless & Easy to Use - Butterfly Bandages

So this is one product that I’ve purchased on Amazon that I never wanted to have to review. However, the inevitable happened and I’m happy to say, this was an outstanding purchase. I came home from picking my son up from baseball practice and found my wife sitting on the couch, holding a towel on her hand with blood dripping abundantly from her hand. She said, I cut myself. I had to remove the towel and saw a large laceration going diagonal across her index finger. The amount of blood said at all, but I took a look at it and realized immediately it was going to need stitches. It was a clean, cut with a clean knife and had bled enough that I wasn’t worried about infection so no need to wash it off or irrigate it. I grabbed the first aid kit, located these wound closures and went to work. After blocking the blood away from her fingertip, I was able to install one of the narrow wound closures lengthwise along her finger. The adhesive held, even though there were some blood remaining on her finger. The zip closure is clean and smooth to operate with incremental steps that were just right to bring her skin back together and immediately stop the bleeding. As a precaution, I used a large bandage to keep the wound clean and put a finger brace on to keep her from accidentally moving it or bumping it. We are now on day three of having the wound closure in place. She did a good job of keeping the wound closure dry during showers until last night. It was stood some water but last night was finally able to make the adhesive break loose. That gave me an opportunity to check the wound and I decided she’s gonna need them on for a couple more days at least. We applied a second wound closure after taking the first one off. It operated just a smoothly and consistently as the first. My confidence in this product has drastically increased, and I am now ordering a few more sets to keep on hand and each of my first aid kits, including the one I take when I’m coaching Little League, each of our vehicles, first aid kits and our home first aid kit. This saved me hundreds of dollars an emergency room, bill bills, several hours of my time by not having to wait in the waiting room at the emergency room and peace of mind, knowing that we can be just that much more self reliant. Excellent product highly recommended!

I bought these based on videos and what I've seen. As an ex EMT. This is a very convenient item to have in a to-go bag or in an emergency. I have the original butterfly closures, the ones that you would see at ER. Not what I call the rinky dinky ones. So I'm happy I got this. I think everybody should get one in a to-go bag.

Exactly what I needed, or rather, will need in the future. These work very well to close those wounds where it’s difficult to keep them closed with typical bandaids, but you don’t want to immobilize the entire area.

I have teen boys and live in the woods. These have been amazing and so great to have on hand.
