Palm leaf bowls 🌴
I used to buy plastic plates to avoid washing dishes in particular if I had people for lunch or dinner. I must be honest, I haven't been buying plastic plates for months. Also because, likely for the environment I am finding it more and more difficult to find them in the shops. You can usually find paper plates, which most of the time are rubbish, or this version of palm leaf bowls. These bowls are very resistant. I have bought palm leaf plates in the past and I can see the difference. They are made well, I could not find any defects up to now. The ones I bought in the past sometimes I had to throw them away how bad they were made. Also, I have noticed if I put something hot on the plate it does not melt like the others used to do eventually.Cons: the price. They are a bit expensive considering they are single use. 25 bowls big bowls at around ÂŁ14 pound. I understand they are biodegradable and compostable but I would not not buy them regularly at this price.

Fantastic Eco-Friendly Bowls for Every Occasion!
I absolutely love the ECO Leaf 25 Disposable Palm Leaf Bowls! These 7-inch square bowls are perfect for picnics and outdoor events. Their sturdy design holds up well for everything from salads to stews, and knowing they are compostable makes them a guilt-free option. What I appreciate most is the flexibility—once we're done, I can either compost them or toss them in the campfire, making clean-up a breeze. Plus, they’re microwave and oven safe, which is a huge bonus for serving hot dishes. If you’re looking for stylish, sustainable tableware for weddings, parties, or casual gatherings, these bowls are a must-have! Highly recommended!

Not as sustainable as ceramic bowls but disposable
Obviously if you're having garden party or barbeque and really want the most eco friendly option, it's using your own ceramic plates as you normally would and washing them later. If, you're thinking of using something disposable though you've usually just got plastic and paper, the first of which is hardly eco-friendly and the second is hardly strong. They've managed to make these surprisingly sturdy for a leaf. They hold their shape even with weight in them, they're light, and the price per unit is fairly high for a disposable plate but not that high per guest compared to drinks, snacks and a meal. What you're doing here is paying for some convenience of a decent, strong, disposable food bowl, and a less guilty conscience because you can compost it, or presumably burn it if you're having a bonfire (I've not tested that but it seems likely it would work). They've got several products, these square bowls are about the same size as a normal cereal bowl, give or take for reference. On the plus side, there's a discount if you buy them in bulk which might be helpful if you're going to do this a lot - although still, use ceramic if you want to save money in the long run. The quality surprised me, given this is simple leaves, it just doesn't seem like they should be that good as a bowl given that, but they are.
