I ordered these for my mom struggling because of health reasons. My son installed them and it's made all the difference in the world.

These safety bars are a bit narrower than expected. I think this is because I was picturing the same size and type safety rail I've seen in public restrooms (like at my office building). That said, I do think these more narrow rails are more decorative for the home.The mechanism for mounting the rails makes for a very secure mounting. And, the process is not difficult. The rails come with everything you need.However - and this is important - safety rails, in order to be effective and not create a risk, must be attached to the studs in the wall. It is absolutely not acceptable to mount safety rails using anchors into a sheetrock wall. This provides zero support and the rail will simply be pulled out of the wall. With a 25" rail this may present a problem as in most homes the studs are 16" apart. Be careful about this when you install the rails. You won't be able to span the space between three studs (that would be 32" and these rails are too short). Instead you will have to either install into a single stud vertically or between two studs on an angle. Once installed to the stud you will have a strong and reliable safety rail to use.

These grab bars have been quite the best at helping my elderly relatives be able to get about the house in safety. They are very easy to install and once up they are strong and stable.I like the uncomplicated look of the stainless steel. It goes with all decors and is easy to keep clean. Not only do these work well in the bathroom, but they also have worked great in hallways and in doorways. The 24 inch length is perfect for so many uses.

These were too thin for my parents shower. They were too shiny and slippery. I returned for credit and purchased some others ones. They would make great safety towel racks so that one could use them as safety bars.Just wasn't what I needed for parents safety. They needed a thicker bar type.
