Smart Effects Technoline WS580 Internet USB Weather Station and Clock

I`m really pleased with my purchase. It was delivered within the allotted time and was well packaged. No problem in setting up, very easy not really much to do, just need to enter your location and that`s it. Good display and easy to read, cannot fault it. I had a few questions as the manual is a little basic, i e-mailed the supplier who replied very quickly with answers, so excellent after sales. I wanted a weather station that gave me a five day forcast, clock, date, wind speed/direction, rain fall etc, but without the equipment to setup outside and that`s exactly what you get. It`s been an ideal purchase for me and for the price excellent.

Although delivered very quickly by Amazon, this device was disappointing to say the least. First of all, the plug supplied with the device was a two pin continental type which does not fit UK sockets. Secondly, the software disc was very difficult to instal and continually caused my computer to freeze. Attempts to uninstal the software therefore also proved difficult. (My operating system is Windows XP with which the software should have been compatible) Thirdly, there was no reply from the customer services number provided on the software disc. Fourthly, the icons and numbers on the display would not remain visible for longer than 10 seconds if batteries were inserted even when the device was being mains powered. Fifthly, the display was only visible when viewed from a downwards angle which prevented wall mounting above eye level. I am most surprised that Amazon has supplied this item when it is clearly not made for use in the UK.

If you were thinking of buying this for someone, who is into gadgets, then I would definately recommend it. It works in conjunction with your laptop or computer. It has several features, including cycles of the moon,weather , time and dates. If the person you are thinking of buying this for,is anything like my husband , they will love it.

A good looking device, simple to set up (despite the none too well translated instruction sheet). Works perfectly with a Windows Vista PC. Slightly annoying if the server providing the forecast data is down for more than 24 hours or so, but when all is working as advertised (which is 99% of the time)it's an easily readable, accurate clock and an interesting and informative basic weatherstation which does not bombard you with complex information.

About the product, you may want to inquire, there was. E-mail has been many times, there was no reply even once just a. Worst.

La stazione meteoroligica WS580 è discreta, riporta praticamente tutti i dati che servono, dalla temperatura interna/esterna all'umidità interna/esterna e la mia impressione è che sia precisa (controllato con altri apparecchi). Tutti i dati relativi a previsioni sui prossimi 5 giorni, velocità vento e direzione, fasi lunari, data/ora vengono aggiornati via internet tramite il software e la chiavetta usb allegati alla confezione (l'installazione è molto semplice). Naturalmente se il pc è spento non si aggiorna nulla. La parte dolente è che il software, piuttosto datato, non è in italiano e non indica tutti le località/città italiane. Le province si ma molte città non ci sono....come la mia! Ho scritto a Technoline per avere informazioni e mi hanno detto che quello è l'unico software esistente. Altro problemuccio è che rimane sempre acceso. Non c'è un tasto di spegnimento. Praticamente di notte illumina il soggiorno come una lampada notturna (anche più di una).... una cosa che si potrebbe evitare. L'estetica è apprezzabile. Tutto sommato il mio giudizio è positivo.

Ich habe zugleich, ein Ventus W194 und dieses hier gekauft, weil ich nicht wusste welches das beste wäre. Also, Anzeige ist super, sehr gut lesdar, im Gegesats zu meinen Ventus. Es ist sehr leicht zu bediehnen, das einzige Negative das ich dazu sagen kann, es gibt (leider) zu wenige Orten in Frankreich, wo ich wohne, zum Vergleich andere Länder, da gibt es viel mehere Stätte die man eiinstellen kann. Ich habe beide behalten, obwohl, es mir das Technoline am besten gefällt, nur die Stadt die ich einstellen konnte liegt ca 75Km entfernt und die Wetteranzeige stimmt nicht ganz zu unsere Gegend.

Diese Frage wollte ich gerne immer leicht beantwortet haben, ausserdem ist es interessant die Temperaturen die einem vor der Tür erwarten, schon im vorhinein zu wissen. Im Grossen und Ganzen bin ich mit dem Gerät sehr zufrieden, auch wenn es kleine Schwächen im Bereich des Displays hat, so gibt es zB in der Tagesvorschau keine Minuszeichen (wenn die Maximaltemperaturen den Pluswert nicht erreichen sollten). Bei uns steht es im Bad und hängt permanent am Strom. Der Abgleich mit dem Computer erfolgt bis dato meistens problemlos, ausser wenn sich die Software wieder updated. Device neu anmelden, Problem gelöst. Informationsinhalt des Displays sind für uns ausreichend, alles andere hätte eine Profiwetterstation bedeutet. Qualität / Preis / Leistung stimmen bei diesem Gerät und bis auf kleine Schwächen sind wir zufrieden.
