Great features @ a great price.. superior customer service.
I bought this handy little meter from Best Meter..1st and foremost excellent customer service.I contacted the seller re: even though w/in spec the temperature reading was a bit high.. The seller provided calibration instructions such that it now reads on the money... In fact just recently I had ocassion to check the temperature reading @ well over 100 degF, this meter was spot on...Great service, quick response. Great price / value,What is this meter best for?very inexpensive for the features, these features make this my goto meter for take along field measurements.-small size, easy to "carry along” in tool bag or pouch.-side probe holders, very convenient for storage and allowing use of probe attached to meter so eyes are on contact point and meter.-magnet so you can affix it to a metal door (breaker box) etc. to free your hands for taking measurements- the display is large for a (small) meter this size => good for my "old eyes"-the display is 4 digits (6000 cts) , good accuracy.-auto ranging,-audible continuity, easy to tell w/o looking @ the meter, actually very quick response compared to other meters near this price point.- automatic backlight, based on available lighting..- the wrist strap may be useful to some, I'll likely never use it.-battery and fuses in same easy to access compartment.. so you don't have to do major disassembly to replace either.Battery test (1.5v & 9V) puts a load on batteries so you can tell the remaining life.shortcoming(s):- the included leads in this "budget" meter are adequate, I recommend if you have more than infrequent use invest a few $$ in a good set of test leads.- The current "marketing hype" with several of the "newer" DMM's is NCV, Non-Contact Voltage check.. As most reviewers point out, this feature is inconsistent.. I would never trust this. Manufactures will either improve this feature or it will go away.-glass fuses, vice sand filled, at a budget price this is what one would expect, some users will tell you the sand filled fuses are "better protection" true ,if the meter is subjected to conditions well beyond its design, but in all of my 60 years I have never blown afuse on a meter..Would I recommend this meter, YES for the $$ it is a great value

Fantastic meter for the price for the DYI, hobbyist, student, or just general purpose
I bought this meter because of Darren Walker's review on YouTube. He gave it a 4.5 rating. It has a lot of great features at an affordable price. I consider this meter to be a mid-size meter. The battery compartment is retain using actual metal inserts and machine screws--not just screws going into plastic. Also, the fuses are easy to replace if and when the blow. It features a strap to hang it by or even wraps around your wrist. The magnet is strong enough that it can be used to attach to meter boxes and such. The continuity feature with the default leads are quick to respond. It can test diodes and LEDs. The capacitance range goes to 100 mil Farads. Not for industrial or professional level...It lacks the input protection. Idea for electronic hobbyist. Great value for your money.

I really like the auto-ranging for resistance
First I'm not a professional, but I have used various meters over more years than I care to count. I really live this one a lot. I noticed another reviewer mentioned a built in flashlight. I believe that is for a different model, this one does not have a flashlight that I can tell, nor is it advertised as having one. I really like the auto-ranging for resistance, it lets me check the values of resistors without having to pull out a microscope to try to see the color bands, which frankly I don't see very well being somewhat colorblind. It ranges pretty quickly, but I did notice if you are trying to check continuity it may bounce around a bit more, being a bit sensitive. It's easier to just set it to the tone for quick checks of continuity. Seems well built without being overly heavy. I really love that the probes snap onto the sides, works like a third hand when testing tiny components, I tend to leave one snapped in. Makes life so much easier. It has a wrist/hang strap, or a magnet, and a kickstand that works rather nicely. Very happy with the purchase and the seller seems great, easily available for questions or concerns. It's a really well designed product

Amazing Value for Under $20
Bought one of these to keep at my desk and test batteries, but have used it for several different projects on various functions. Measurements for voltage, current, resistance, seems spot on with my Fluke 179 RMS meter. Auto-backlight is a great feature. Just bought a 2nd one of these for my son to keep in his vehicle due to features, compact size and value. Highly recommended.

Great features for the price.
Quite accurate in the millivolt range when compared to along side a fluke. Auto range and auto backlight work very well. Would definitely recommend to others. Small and compact but easy to read.

Works very well - eventually.
Everything works great, including auto range and thermocouple. Probes are excellent, protective covers, very sharp, and bronze flashed.Throw the battery in the bin! When tested it measured 9V but even a mA of current caused the voltage to drop rapidly. This explained the meters behaviour - switching on but resetting every second, making to look like a factory dud.

Battery Check Important.
I tinker with electronics purely as a hobby and recently bought the BT-39C as a low cost extra meter. The build quality, performance and ease of operation are well above expectation with regard to price and compare favourably with a more expensive meter that I use. However, if you do buy one I would recomend purchasing a new 9v battery as well. The battery supplied with mine was in sealed packaging and when fitted the meter lit up and the backlight worked but nothing else did and it emitted a constant beeping sound when switched on. I thought it was a faulty meter for a minute but then I checked the battery which in fairness the instructions do advise. The supplied battery only showed 7.46v. New 9v battery fitted and all OK.

Good value for money
Positives: Good measurement device that is small and easy to use.Negatives: The NCV function does not work very well for identifying cable routes through (thick) walls. The wrist strap is a bit difficult to use.
