Hongdian A6 Piston Fountain Pen Fine Soft Nib, Silver Blue Hollow Skeleton & Resin Pen with Metal Case Set

I have been writing with Hongdian pens starting with the Forest Serries. I now own ten with more on the way.I was very impressed with the D1 skeleton pen, but the A6 is one step better.. This is a Skeleton overlay metal pen but does not feel heavy when writing. The quality of the metal skeleton is smooth and is comfortable in the hand. The design is intricate and tight but allows enough of a view of the ink and the ink level The trim and attention to detail equals that of a pen costing four times (4x) as much. The springy clip easily slides into a shirt pocket. The cap comes off in less than one (1) rotation. When stored horizontally, the nib will last over a week without drying out The nib is a smooth and very wet writer with no hint of feedback. The Fine nib lays down a 0.6mm line horizontally and a 0.5mm vertically. The pen case is a Pilot-style metal box. When gift wrapped it make a good gift box. Included is a piston wrench. This pen is amazing, absolutely beautiful, great construction, works perfect, great consistency, very fluid, feels amazing at hand and very comfortable on long writing sessions, F nib is very juicy. This new Hongdian nibs are very soft and bouncy, this is very unexpected for a steel nib, this pen worth more than really expensive pens.

This pen is amazing. It’s a beautiful writer, and it feels so good in the hand. The nib is perfect, and the intricate golden detail is mesmerizing .

This is a stunning looking pen and handles amazingly but it has a tedious tiny wrench that’s so easy to lose. And if you lose it there’s no way around that other than to buy another wrench that costs $7 and most likely will be out of stock.If you can prepare to find a place to keep a small wrench for this pen then i definitely recommend the purchase. It’s a Beautiful Pen!

I ordered the gun metal version and the pen looks exactly like the picture. The smoked glass inside the gun metal skeleton looks great and the black nib really complements the overall look. The cap unscrews with slightly less than one full turn which is a welcome break from the pens that take 2 to 3 turns to remove the cap. So, far this 'easy off cap' has not caused the nib to dry out or hard start. The nib is very smooth for a fine but I wish they would have offered it in a medium. On the plus side, the finer nib allows me to use this pen with cheaper paper without worrying that the ink will bleed through. The pen doesn't really post as the cap sits on the piston knob which could cause a mess if you twisted the cap while posted. However, the pen is plenty long to use unposted. The metal skeleton gives the pen a nice 'heft' but it is not too heavy. Overall a great pen!

Ended up ordering the other two colors after really enjoying the black one with EF nib I initially got. They feel perfect (weight, ergonomics) in hand and writes exceptionally well.

This is one of the best pens that I have. It looks great and writes really well.

Der Kolbenfüller hat eine Interessante Konstruktion, der Bereich des Tintenbehälters und Kolben ist ein glasklares Kunstoffrohr. Das Griffstück in dem die Feder sitzt sowie der Drehknopf zum Bewegen der Kolbenmechanik sind aus massiven Edelstahl. Der Tintenbehälter aus Kunststoff wird durch eine Geflecht aus Edelstahl geschützt. Durch die Maschen des Geflechts kann man den Tintenstand im Füller sehen.Sehr interessant, mal was anderes! Alle Metallteile sind mit einer Färbung vom Typ ”Gun Metal" versehen. Das finde ich auch gut. Übrigens, man kann mit dem Gerät auch sehr gut schreiben.

I decided to amend my review as the pen has really grown on me over the last week or so. I originally mentioned although it was a nice pen, there was just something not quite right and I was planning on sending it back...Well, I decided to give it another go (partly because I ripped the box 😂) and not return it and I'm really glad I did. The nib is superb, a really nice writer straight out of the box, really well tuned, not dry but not too wet, nice and smooth but not glassy smooth, there's a hint of feedback. I went for a fine nib and it's a western fine.The pen is really well made, piston is smooth and fills the pen in a couple of rotations although it's more of a captured converter so don't expect a huge ink capacity or to be able to see the ink swilling about as much as in a TWSBI Eco or Asvine P36 etc.Lookswise, very shiny, a couple of the pictures make it look a bit more of a matte finish which I would have preferred but it's still a good looking pen. The finial looks great.It comes with a tool to unscrew the piston so you can give it a deep clean. Compatible with Leonardo pistons, too.
