Althought I will be using this model as a display for my collection so durabilty and educational views are purley on my usage.Delivery of this item was prompt and in good condition with all part.I had a slight problem with the stem on the stand which the seller advised is a manufacturers fualt and suggested glueing the pieces together for my display collection.Seller response to my enquiry was also prompt and informational.I would recomend buying from this seller. But expect slight altercations with this specific product.

Great little ship to add to my collection
By now i think most people know that the Furuta model series are small candy toys produced in the early 2000s in Japan. They were around way before all our amazing new star trek model collections and were retailed at around 29.99 - 59.99 each depending on the rarity. Over time they have become very valuable and desirable as they were discontinued. These are the originals, they are very collectable, and very valuable, they will be worth alot of money in the future especially if you keep them in good condition. This model is extremely well detailed, and looks fabulous with the rest of the collection. Most of the colours are accurate to the tv series and the quality of resin used is really nice, the molding on the base can differ but overall i have never had an issue or any breakages. Dont be fooled this isnt a very big model, its about 3-4 inches. But it looks fabulous. As always some self assembly is required but i think thats the best bit personally.I think its a shame to hear of people throwing it away, these arent play toys, they are meant to be displayed so they are a little delicate. If anyone has any issues with bits falling off, just use a little modelling glue and its good as new.

Great-looking plastic model
Never thought I would own a Species 8472 Bio-Ship. Did not even know they were made, until I saw this one from Furuta (Japan) on Amazon. Not as durable as the metal Hasbro Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica models, but it's a very light-weight plastic model that looks great.

Wish I'd kept mine - could have sold it!
I unfortunately got this one instead of a ship I actually liked. None of the Furuta models are particularly durable, but this one seemed to be the flimsiest of them all. I never liked Voyager either, or the design of this ship. I ended up chucking it in the bin.
