Thick paper
I use gouache so this paper works very well. Bit trickier with watercolour, for me anyway. Masking tape tears the surface though so if using it, fluff your tape so not as sticky. I only really use tape on loose paper and as this is a block its very sturdy . Will be buying again.

Excellent choice for amateur painter
Very reasonable quality 200lb paper. Feels almost like card and has a matt surface which absorbs water well. I love the blocks and now wouldn't buy anything else: they keep the paper underneath clean, yet dispel with the need for a board; if you use lots of water the paper will buckle in places but it does dry flat due to the gummed edges. Peels off easily with the aid of a palette knife. Because you can't peel off the paper till you're finished with a painting this does mean you will need a few blocks of various sizes, if you like to work on several things at once. Excellent choice for amateur painter offering combination of good enough quality with reasonable cost.

Dont get wet and do not rub...
This paper will not handle heavy washes and sucks up water like a sponge. Also, any lifting out, etc will damage the soft fibres.Does not like being taped either, 9/10 times the paper tears.Poor pulp paper, which I now regard as overpriced. Do yourself a favour and buy a cotton based paper, its worth it instead of wasting Β£15 on this pad.

Good weight but Lacking Surface Integrity
I had ordered a pack of this brand of watercolor paper sometime back but got to use it only yesterday, which prompted this review. The paper is a good weight, minimal warping when wet and possesses decent white colour. On the negative side, the paper lacks integrity, in that while removing masking fluid, the paper is prone to tearing. Even the masking tape, used to hold the paper down to the board, leaves unsightly, frayed edges. Working wet in wet requires extra care as the paper surface is prone to damage with the least amount of brush use.I also noticed that the paper is extra absorbent restricting free flow of paint on the dry surface.I am not sure I will order this paper again. I was attracted by the price and the weight of the paper; but have been disappointed.
