They work!
I came across a recommendation for these types of dressings on a cycling website after I'd left unnecessary amounts of epidermis on a Greek mountain road, courtesy of a road bike, some gravel, and a car in the wrong place at the wrong time.First impressions of the product is that the texture has a weird, pseudo skin feel and the colour is sort of a dark Caucasian - its a bit like getting a skin graft from Malibu Stacey. But the patches went on easily and immediately calmed some seriously unhappy exposed nerve endings, letting me get on with the things that make life worthwhile like exercising, showering and sleeping. It seems counterintuitive to leave a dressing on for several days, but having recently peeled my first ones off I can say that the skin underneath has been transformed from a yukky gravel rashy mess to pink, smooth and healthy looking.Should I ever be in the unfortunate position of suffering a similar injury (and I hope not), I'd certainly buy this product again.

A very clever and effective solution
This stuff is like magic. A hard-wearing and super adhesive dressing that sticks firmly to dry skin but which forms a gel underneath the surface on wet or seeping skin, promoting healing in a manner that avoid scabs. As the interior of the dressing remains wet on healing skin, the removal of the dressing does not take off new skin or leave more damage when changing. It also stays dry on the outside, allowing for normal clothes to be worn.Particularly useful for road-rash arising from cycling accidents. One piece of advice: it may not stick on healing skin, but it does stick on dry skin and so I would advise shaving of any body hairs on undamaged skin before applying, if you don't like pain!Easy to cut to shape, as wounds etc heal and reduce in size,

will last ages
For those like me who think hydrocolloid dressings are fantastic this box of Duoderm is just right. many large high street chemists produce hydrocolloid dressings in preshaped sizes, with borders that don't stick and all the wrong sizes. These simple slabs that you can cut to shape and size are fantastic. The dressing will become soft if you bathe wearing it or wash up wearing it but to extend life of dressing wrap a bit of silk ribbon adhesive dressing tape around. For those not used to Hydrocolloid dressings they can be used for a wide variety of wounds where the bleeding has stopped but it may be exuding a little such as minor burns, cuts, grazes, scratches etc. I particularly use it for what I call gardening injuries where fingers get pricked by thorns and arms get scratched.Always ensure areas are thoroughly washed and dried before applying dressing. These dressings inhibit bacterial growth underneath, so you are less likely to get little abcesses forming. Some of the dressing will dissolve under the dressing so that when you first remove it it will look yellow and nasty. Don't be misled. Wash off remaining dressing in running warm water and pat dry. Wait a moment before assessing. Healing is very fast using these dressings so although a box in itself is expensive you will use every scrap of dressing and will need less.

Practical & effective
I was recommended to use this product by a leading plastic surgeon. I found it useful on a sensitive patch of skin on a surgical scar. It can be left on for several days & one can easily wash around it- much easier than using large dressings & adhesive tape.

I couldn't remove them easily and they did not do the job
Stuck to my feet. I couldn't remove them easily and they did not do the job.

Judgement reserved
Looks OK and appears well packaged, but the first time I used it , it triggered a skin reaction of itching and soreness, which other hydrocolloid brands had not.

Brilliant
I think this stuff is brilliant. I tend to use this anywhere you might use plaster.
