This is a great product! Because there are no pores on the bristles it doesn’t smear grease and grime around the dish. I did find myself using more soap at first due to this, but then I started making a soap water bowl or mug, using a few drops of soap and about a cup of water. I would dip the sponge in every other dish or so, depending on the need to refresh. Being able to rinse out the sponge between each dish meant I had “clean” soapy water each time. Does seem to scrub more than the soft side of a sponge but does need a little elbow grease to get the more stuck on grime. Only draw back is that the material is softer and so can be squirmy during use, but with more experience with it that becomes less of a problem. Versatile use for more than just dishes. Highly recommend!
