Very impressive delivery. Pkg arrived on time or early. The book was very carefully packed in solid strong cardboard package. So it was undamaged. Very good work on seller's part.The book itself was in good condition for it's age. It was a first American imprint, with gifter's inscription on inside cover dated 1927. They didn't use acid-free paper back then, so the pages are not perfect. The cover is in great shape. I felt that it was in better condition than I expected.

this the bowdlerized version that Lawrence agreed to have printed. As is usual with Lawrence, his descriptions are excellent and worth the price. As it's hard to find the complete version, this is not hard to settle for.

Revolt in the Desert Though this work centers on the Arab uprising during WWI to push the Turks from the Arabian Peninsula, some of the aspects of the uneasy relationship between the Arabs and the British troops are identical to some of the obstacles faced by coalition forces there today. There are discussions on aspects of strategy from von Clausewitz which are also aspects of Sun Tzu's "Art of War." It is also a good treatment of the history of that region as well. When finished, my copy was donated to the Wounded Warrior Library at Ft. Sam Houston, TX.

A decent book by an almost forgotten character of the First World War. One cannot read, without pondering ‘What might have been’ had England not reneged on her promises, and Lawrence lived to a ripe old age...

As well as being one of the worlds most famous persons, T.E. Lawrence is an outstanding writer. A pleasure to read.

Have you seen the Peter O'Toole film Lawrence of Arabia?Read this for the true story on which the film is based.Wonder why US/Europe can't "get along" with the Arabs? Perhaps it might have something to do with the fact that Arab grandfathers were badly double-crossed by US/European grandfathers? That stry doesn't seem to get much "air time", on the US/European side of the divide.
