Usable for vocal lessons

My daughter has classical voice coaching, and this book with its wonderful songs has been helping her develop her voice! I highly recommend this book!

I have to say, I'm partial to the Schirmer edition -- it looks better, it's been in use for many, many more decades, and the arias are much more straightforward, without all the silly editorial ornamentation of this edition.BUT, this edition provides invaluable background, pronunciation information, and additional informational about each aria. And in a few cases (like "Sebben Crudele"), the whole aria is vastly better, undoing unfortunate editorial choices in the Schirmer (like essentially changing a 3/4 to a 6/8).My advice: get this one AND the Schirmer, along with appropriate recordings from Cecilia Bartoli (she generally follows the Schirmer), Pavarotti (he does his own thing at times), etc., then mix and match the bits you like from all three to come up with your own "ultimate" personalized versions of each aria.

The editing of this volume is excellent. There are fine suggestions for ornaments as well as IPA and word for word translations. Publishers take note! This should be the case for all publications of songs that are not in English as most American students are not fluent in multiple languages.

Great book for beginning vocalists, lots of potential songs to add to your repertoire

I love this book as it contains several popular Italian art songs and the fonts are large and easy to read.

For less than $10, you cannot beat the value. There are a lot of really great songs in here. I use this book to teach students how to sing in Italian, and it is working out fanatistically.

It was what I was expecting.

I was advised to buy this by my singing teacher so we can work through multiple songs in it. The songs are very nice and the piano part is not too difficult for me to play and I haven't done so "properly" for ~7 years. I did get mine from the Amazon Warehouse rather than new but it was cheaper and still in great condition!

Recomended for any singer who likes classical music. Bought for my daughter for exam work and she has taken it to Uni. with her . Well packaged and promptly sent.

Good selection of Arias and excellent overview of each piece together with phonetic translation. Would recommend for all studying vocalists

Great Product

I bought this book for myself after seeing a ‘best Classical singing books review’ on YouTube one day. It is a great book, only thing, in hindsight, I should have paid the extra and got the book with CD Included version. Does have English translation and also background information as well. Great book.
