Beautiful, great fit, warmest coat I've ever worn. Down jacket with real fox fur on hood.
This is a wonderful coat, definitely the warmest I have ever worn, and I've never been able to afford a coat like this. I am pretty sure this is the last coat I'll ever order for myself for the rest of my life. It's made of a 100% nylon shell and 60% down and 40% waterfowl feathers filling, and it will definitely keep you nice and warm, even when it's very cold. This coat is also very stylish with a unique design and has excellent fabric, stuffing, and nylon.I love the way this coat is made, with two layers: There's a short jacket layer first, which has a zip front with a standing collar, then there's the long coat, which zips up the front as well and has two pockets, which are big enough to hold gloves, phones, keys, etc. The two layers are joined and can't be worn separately. The coat also has rib knit storm cuffs, which keep out the cold air better than anything I've ever worn. That goes for the whole coat, too.I also love the removable hood, which is trimmed with button-off genuine blue fox fur trim, sourced from Finland and assembled in the USA. That can also be removed if you like. I need the hood, and I'm probably not going to take off the fox fur trim, even though I'm against using animal fur to make clothing. Just this one time, I'm going to do that.I love the way this coat feels, looks, and keeps me warm. I get extra cold because I have hypothyroidism and lupus, and I'll go outside with a big hooded jacket on when my neighbors are wearing short sleeves in winter. We have a large cold front moving in, so I'll find out more about how wind resistant and cold resistant this coat is. I don't expect any problems. The only problem with this beautiful, elegant, perfectly made coat is that it's hand wash only. I read through the listing information carefully trying to find a note that suggested dry cleaning OR hand washing and found nothing.Still, even though I hate hand washing, especially when the item has a lot of fabric and stuffing, hand washing this coat once a year won't bother me. I don't go anywhere that's dirty unless, of course, my dog sees a possum or an armadillo or a rabbit that needs chasing and "can't hear" me telling him to stop. At any rate, I doubt this coat will need much washing. For me, this beautiful, elegant, very well made and extremely warm coat is a once in a lifetime addition to my coat closet. I'll take excellent care of this, and it should last me the rest of my life. And I'm not old, by the way. What I am NOT going to do with this coat is put it up and not wear it because it might get dirty or a thousand other things might happen, but then again they might not.I can't recommend this gorgeous black coat highly enough. For most people, I believe this will be a once in a lifetime purchase that they can wear the rest of their lives with proper care. I've never had anything this nice or this beautiful, and I'm going to wear it every day and enjoy it. Five stars is just a start for rating this fine coat.

Excellent quality coat
Honestly, this is the nicest coat I have ever owned in my 40+ years. The price definitely reflects the quality. While the temps haven’t dropped to freezing yet in my area, this coat appears to be able to handle winters where I live where winters can dip into negative values at least once a year. The description and included tags don’t give any type of indication of what temp range this coat can handle. From the listing, it wasn’t obvious to me what materials were used in this coat and where. I had to read it multiple times. The outer fabric used in the construction is nylon with real fur trim with a 100% polyester lining. While the material is nylon and poly, it’s a NICE nylon and poly. I’ve never seen nylon and poly this high quality before (that feels like an oxymoron to me). The filling of the coat itself is 100% down and feathers, except in the hood which is filled with polyester.Normally, I wear a M in tops and L in bottoms. Picking a size in anything full bodied is always tricky. I ordered this in a M and it fits me well above and below the waist. It’s not too big on top and not too small on the bottom. Most importantly, it’s not bulky and is rather flattering unlike a lot of coats. The hood is a generous fit and covers my head completely and appears it will block the winter wind nicely. Although the fur gets into my eyes and face. Better than having the wind in my face though. While the hood itself isn’t removable, the fur trim is. It’s attached with hidden buttons. They’re connected securely, but that means removing it takes quite a bit of time. It also includes a draw-string for a tight fit.The inner zipper is easy enough to close with the bottom hitting waist-length. However, the outer zipper is a bit awkward with the zipper at approximately knee-length. This is to be expected though. It would have been a nice addition to have snaps to quickly close the coat if needed. Instead, there is only a single snap at the very bottom of the outer zipper. The pockets are nice and large and fleece lined. However, there are only two outer pockets. No inner pockets. More pockets would have been nice. These outer pockets are zippered, but are at an awkward angle for putting your hands into for warmth. This is probably my least favorite detail with this coat. Assuming this coat is to be work in cold conditions, putting your hands in pockets is going to be necessary. That being said, I’m overall tickled with this coat. Very happy with it overall. Definitely recommend!

Warm, but too snug.
This coat is really warm. It is not heavy because the filling is down and feathers, which is a big plus, of course. I like that it has a double zipper and the collar is high enough to cover my throat entirely. It is not very long, though, just barely covers my knees. I am 5’5”, weigh about 160 pounds and I normally wear Large. This coat in Large feels like medium. Unfortunately, the seller did not provide any measurements when I was ordering this coat. The fit is very snug, especially in the chest. I am not able to wear this coat over a thick sweater. Without a warm sweater underneath, it is good for milder winter temperatures, but not for freezing cold.I like the natural fox fur on the hood, which is very soft and warm, but it is thinner on top than on the sides. The hood is too deep and frequently gets in my face. The pockets are too high and it is not very comfortable to put hands in them.Overall, I am glad to have this coat. It is not perfect, but it is good. However, the price of almost $300 (at the time of this review) seems too high to me.
