There are similar tapes that cost less. This is the real stuff. This is what your hot-end heating and thermister wires are taped with. Use the real thing. The slightly higher cost isn't relevant -unless you intend to rebuild hot-ends for a living, you aren't going to run out of it anytime soon. It can take the intense heat and will keep your wires together and safe.
