Gigabit WiFi 6 Router with VLAN, VPN, Ad Blocking, DNS Over HTTPS and Parental Controls

I recommend it to anybody that wants to upgrade and obtain professional level privacy and security when using the internet with the many devices we all have, including the IOT devices that stream movies, tv and music, and the devices that connect household items to the internet.PCWRT Router includes the highly regarded Open Source software “OpenWRT”. That software allows one to isolate the ethernet ports and wifi to your desired configuration—it allows you to determine if the devices connected to the ports via ethernet or wifi can communicate with each other or be isolated and not have any interaction with other devices on your network; basically putting devices and their connections to your network in prison. The isolation protects your network from prying eyes and hackers.PCWRT accommplishes a highy sought goal: to make OPENWRT and VLAN (the isolation method used on the PCWRT) easily accessible to the non-techy, which in the past would be out of reach to non-professionals. PCWRT provides fantastic support to assist you in set up and any trouble shooting.PCWRT has created a customized OPENWRT uinterface which allows a non-professional to set up isolation of devices and tunneling VPNs to devices in the most uder-friendly way I have ever seen.VPNPCWRT Router does an excellent job in offering three VPN protocols: Wireguard, OpenVPN and IKEv2. I have used the first two on my PCWRT router and they are super easy to install, it is the drag and drop or upload method. You can set the VPN to include all traffic on the router or selected ports and devices; its an incredibly easy method to set up. Easiest I have every done. With wireguard VPN I retained 100% download and upload internet speeds.PCWRT makes three important aspects of router/internet privacy and security easy to set up: Implement VLAN to isolate devices from each other and your network, tunnel vpn to devices and allow non-vpn (open internet connection) when needed.I have tried Pfsense, DD-WRT and Vilfo OS and find PCWRT the easiest and most comprehensive Privacy and Security Router. For those that want to secure their internet connections and maintain privacy the PCWRT Router is an essential tool to accomplish that. PCWRT Router has my highest recommendation.

The router had stopped working completely. I had bought it 6 months ago. The webchat support with TP link was great. Bruce Pacres helped me troubleshoot through the process. It took more than an hour, but my router is working fine now ! Apparently the router had to be reconnected to a 'new' modem to bring it back to life!

First off, having a router with OpenWRT out of the box is a HUGE plus. There's so much customization you can do and the feature set is outstanding. It's great to have the parental controls with kids in the house and the security features are something even top router manufacturers want you to pay a subscription for. The biggest downside for me is the range. The 5G range is quite a bit lower than my previous 4 year old router from the big search company. That router had other issues and this one is an improvement overall, but I have to use the 2.4G side to get the range I had before. This just means I don't quite get the speed I would hope when I a further away, but being close, it's very fast and stable. It's connected to fiber internet and I am getting what I would expect, just as long as I am fairly close (not more than one room over).

Set up was simple. All the WiFi devices in the house run so much more smooth now.

Vastly better configuration options than what same other big name brands offer. I didn't experience any downtimes or issues with connectivity either.

If you have devices that can use the new WIFI 6 protocol, the you'll appreciate the speed bump over the previous standards. Setup is not hard, but not easy either, you may need to ask for help if you are not familiar with internet things.Following the instructions It took me about thirty minutes to set up. It has a strong signal all over my home and a little outside of it

pcWRT provides you with the tools to run your home network your way. Much better configurability than brand names. Great performance.
