Great heat shrink tubing for DIY fixes! (Choose size wisely!)
Most people have no idea that heat shrink tubing is a great DIY fix tool for connecting and splicing things together. We had a little hose that would keep popping out of the toilet filler and nothing we've tried would ever hold it in place.Enter heat shrink tubing! Heat shrink tubing is this magical doohickey that literally shrinks when you heat it up. Think of it like a Chinese finger trap for anything you want stuck together. (But, please don't use trap your fingers!)I cut a bit of this heat shrink tubing, put it over the hose and connector where I want it to stay put, and then heated that tubing up until it shrank down to hold everything in place! Finally! Fixed! Now, do choose your size wisely. I've normally worked with heat shrink tubing for small wires (18-24 gauge wire which is at most about 1mm wide) so this is the first time I've had to use this magical tool for something larger at 1/4". I chose the 1" 4:1 shrink which, in hindsight, was a tad larger than I needed. My tubing is 1/4" which requires full shrinkage. Were I to buy again, I'd probably get a smaller tubing (perhaps 3/4" or 1/2" that shrinks down to under 1/4") so that I wouldn't need max shrinkage to get the connection I wanted. A 3/4" 4:1 would shrink down to 3/16" (less than 1/4"=4/16") and I wouldn't need to get max shrinkage to get a tight wrap. Similarly, a 1/2" 4:1 would shrink down to 1/8" and I'd only need to shrink it half way to get a tight wrap. Why smaller? Because shrinking the tubing down takes time and max shrinkage requires more heat and more time. Had I gone smaller, I could've accomplished the same goal probably with less hassle. Still works, but slightly more work with a hair dryer and lighter. (Note, for best results you want a heat blower which is basically a hair dryer on steroids. For an occasional quick DIY fix, I've got my wife's hair dryer and the long nose lighter from my BBQ on hand to shrink this down.)Live and learn, but at least I hopefully won't need to fix this for a long while!

First time using 4:1 - amazing shrink!
I have a discontinued wiring harness for an old outboard motor that I'm working on restoring. I'm trying to save as much of the original 4AWG power cables as I can, but I'm going to have to splice some new wire onto it. Those, plus all the control wires come together into a bundle that then plugs into the motor. I'm using various sizes of adhesive-lined marine heat shrink to accomplish this task, and that's where the big 1.5" 4:1 material from BELLA BAYS comes in.I wanted to make sure it was going to do the job, so I cut a small strip about an inch long. It cuts very easily using regular scissors. I knew that the target diameter for 1.5" tube is only 3/8", so I wanted to see if it would snug all the way down onto the insulation of a #4 wire. I straddled the test piece halfway over the lug crimp, and half just on the wire. Using a heat gun, I shrank the tubing down until it didn't seem to shrink any more. The part on the lug is definitely tight, with adhesive squeezing out. I didn't quite expect the part on just the wire to be fully snug, and I think there's a little gap in places, although it did a lot better than I thought it would. I do have smaller heat shrink that I'm using for the individual #4 cables anyway; this was just an extreme test of this product. One benefit of 4:1 over 3:1 or 2:1 is that the resulting, shrunken tube has much thicker walls, giving better protection for my cables in the harsh marine environment. It also will allow me to slide the tubing over bigger connectors before shrinking it down, which is crucial for my task.Overall, two big thumbs up for this product and this seller. I'd definitely go back to them for heat shrink in the future!

Works well, but I think its a little pricy
The shrink tube is in a small roll when you get it which is nice if you only use one size and want is so you don't have 50 pieces in a box that fall all over the place when you open the container. Though, the price I think is a little much for what I got. Shrank down rather well so if you got a connector or something you're trying to seal as well as the wires leading into the termination, then this may get the job done when the diameter changes a bit.

Crazy shrink ratio
This is some of the best shrink wrap I've used, purely because it shrinks so much compared to other types I've used before. I think most of the shrink wrap I've had in the past is a 3:1 ratio, and this definitely tightens up more than those. I also like that this is marine grade, so that when you apply the appropriate amount of heat, a clear little glue bubble forms on each side to give a visual aide that the seal is weathertight.

Good tubing
This is good tubing works well on larger cables and the adhesive seems to help make a good watertight seal as well. I like having red to more properly indicate positive cables, especially since cables of this size can carry a lot of current!

Did just what I needed it to do!
I had a project where I was connecting CATV wires with connectors for outdoor use and wanted an extra layer of protection against the elements. These did just what I needed them to do! Very nice quality and a reasonable price. 5 stars!

Thick insulator, good adhesive
This black heat shrink tubing is labeled for 1-1/2" but is very loose on a 1-1/2" diameter object in it's unshrunken state. I measured the inner diameter of the unshrunken tubing with a 1-1/2" holesaw bit, and the shrunken diameter with a 1/2" drill bit. With a beginning size of over 1-1/2" and a shrunken size of almost 1/2" it is a little over a 3:1 shrink, but probably not quite a 4:1 shrink. This may only apply to the larger sizes, but is more than adequate for a good seal. The adhesive sticks VERY well and I am confident that is is creating a very good seal. I had to turn the tubing inside out for my holesaw/drill bit test because the adhesive is so aggressive. This tubing is very thick, making for a strong, well insulated connection on large wires. This roll of black was exactly the advertised length of 4 feet.
