I couldn’t put this down, read it in 8 hours!What an amazing woman, this really hit home in ways I couldn’t imagine.I love how she discussed racism and her insight to the beautiful Somaon culture. I remember my grandad teasing islanders and I’m so glad that this attitude is changing each day, it needs to stop. This book has educated me.I grew up in NZ, ashamed of my Maori side and moved overseas as a child but there were so many memories from my childhood that I could relate too in this. I’m 30 years, It’s inspired me to explore my childhood trauma that I have been pushing away for so long. I want to learn about my background, I am proud to be Maori.I also remember being 8 years old playing in the local league, growing up with all my boy cousins as the only girls and remember vividly the moment I stopped after getting mocked by the boys on my first and only game (even though I scored a try) What an awesome story, you’ve made massive changes in your time. I can’t wait to see how woman’s rugby evolves.Thank you for such an awesome read Ruby.

An honest written book that reads exactly as if Ruby has written it. It shows Ruby's full journey, most of which is totally unknown if you only ever saw her play rugby.Emotional, funny, heart warming. Definitely worth reading and sharing.

Like so many other Brits I was captivated by Ruby's Better Be Cool interview, and have followed her ever since. A breath of fresh air I thought this would be an interesting read. Wow. Captivated from start to finish I had to force myself to put the book down. An inspiration to all. I have so much respect for this lady. I watch on to see what wonderful things she will achieve next.

I didn’t know anything about Ruby Tui before reading this book. I saw her post World Cup game interview and was intrigued. Wow what a totally inspiring woman and such a fabulous ambassador for women’s rugby and women’s sport in general. In reading this book you can feel the passion and enthusiasm in every page . Straight talking, compassionate, and inspirational. I looked forward to going to bed every night just to read a bit more. Ruby Tui details her upbringing and journey into world class rugby, holding nothing back. She’s the kinda girl we all should aspire to be. What’s role model.

This book is a must read! Not only is this an incredibly interesting and inspiring story, there is so much you can learn from the way that ruby sees the world. No matter who you are, this books for you.

An author who speaks from the heart who digs deep to make meaning and to grow. Her story and wise lessons from life speak to the reader and remind us of the stories of our lives. I loved hearing this real voice coming from Ruby, and such wisdom too. I can’t believe this is the first bio from a NZ woman rugby player! You girls need to get writing! An amazing story to inspire us all.
