I repurchased so obviously fine
As you can tell by the title, I did buy again after another bundle of these a year ago, so not only can I comment on how they hold up and remove from walls, but I can also comment on improvements. Given that I chose to repurchase, there obviously arenât any major flaws so I am overall very happy with both last year and this yearâs purchases.First off, for those of you renting, they will take paint off when you remove them. You canât avoid that, itâs an adhesive on paint. However, it SHOULD be something your landlord can just paint over. My best advice is attach them to a ceiling with texture instead of the wall if/where you can because when you pull them off, you canât actually tell it took some material with it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they did readhere to the walls in my new apartment. I did have to supplement some areas with scotch tape (fun fact that wonât destroy your walls and will keep them stuck just fine), but I just assumed they would have no more adhesion left.In terms of how well they stay stuck, they do tend to fall off a little at areas where there are bends. I just put tape at places with more stress and that fixes it. I specifically did not clean areas I wanted to stick them because less adhesion is actually better for me when I go to remove them when I move out. They did make some improvements from last year and the price is actually about $5 lower. My new remote has way more options and more colors and I feel like the strips themselves bend for corners a lot easier. I believe the adhesive is about the same (see the edit below I found it is most certainly not the same after a weekend away).I havenât had any issues with lights on strips going out and I hooked them all up in succession for over a year with no issues. My strips from last year can also do the expanded range of colors just fine from the new remote. Make sure you line up the ends properly or youâll end up with strips not lighting up and panic. Just flip the connecting end and youâll be good.EDIT: the adhesive is definitely worse now. There is no longer concern of it taking paint off the wall, as the lights completely fell off when I left them unattended for 48 hours. They didnât even stay stuck to the wall mounting tape I supplemented a few areas with. I am irritated and will be adding more wall adhesive. They are going to stay up whether they like it or not.My home now looks like Tron and I am happy.

Great led package. Very versatile.
These led lights are fantastic. There is a control box (which is also the remote control receiver) that splits into 4 outputs. There are 4 separate strips that will connect to the 4 outputs. This control box also listens to sounds so you can play music and have the lights âreactâ to the music. It also has Bluetooth so that you can control the lights via an app from your smartphone. I chose to run them around the perimeter of a bedroom underneath crown moulding, so I used two outputs and connected 2 strips end to end twice, if that makes sense (using all 4 strips). The strips come with a male pigtail connector on one end, female pigtail on the other. I chose to eliminate the pigtails on the end of the strips and the connecting ones for a seamless transition. This requires buying some connectors and unsoldering the pigtails that come on the end of the strips. If you have a soldering iron and know how to use it, itâs not hard at all. Iâm including a pic of these connectors, but realize that they are NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS KIT, but can be easily found here on Amazon. Just make sure that they are 4 pin (RGB) strip to strip connectors. Also, if youâre not comfortable sticking the adhesive backing to your Sheetrock, Iâd recommend buying strips of 3/4â screen stop (screen moulding), sticking it to that, and using finishing nails to adhere it to your walls. Filling small nail holes is much easier than retexturing your wall..

Works perfectly. Also works with smart-outlet.
I needed 42 feet for a room and so I needed more than the 32 feet from other products. It comes with four 16 feet bundles and the power adapter comes with matching four connectors. Some other products would warn not to connect the light bundles in serial, but I had no issues connecting all four bundles in serial to just one power connector (how else would I get to 42 feet?).My ceiling has an angled side due to the roof so I couldn't simple go around the wall and so I had to connect to the ceiling instead. This meant I needed to order separate right-angle connectors. I actually ordered 3-way T-connectors so at each corner, I used my leftover strips to make lights go down the corners as well. So I actually found a use for the extra feet of lights. I also had to cut and add segments to each side to get it to fit the needed length of each side of the room and the light performance was not affected by all those connectors at all. To prep the ends for the connectors, I had to scratch away the adhesive foam at the tips so just the thin strip is left. The remote/ir-sensor is also very sensitive since it can pick up the remote commands from any where in the room, even then I'm not pointing the remote to the sensor. My guess is that the ir bounces off the walls to get to the sensor.I also plugged the power unit into a tp-link smartoutlet so I could ask alexa to turn on and off the lights. I mainly did this so I could schedule the lights to turn off at night in case someone forgets to turn them off. But I was pleasantly surprised that after getting power from the smart outlet, the lights would return to their previous state so I didn't have to use the remote to manually turn them on or change modes.I didn't try the app for controlling the lights. Nor did I use the adhesive part of the strips as feel that any adhesive will break down eventually. Instead, I bought a pack of mounting brackets (be sure to get the non-waterproof kind).
