It doesn't fit a 1/2 post as advertised. Like another review, it is impossible to get on the stove handle. The handle appears to be well constructed and is bright and shiny like the picture. alas, I have to order another pair hoping the new ones actually fits.

The handle is not as described and is of cheap quality. It's a shame since the packaging claims it is made in the USA, but I guess that doesn't mean much anymore. I purchased two handles for a wood-burning stove, and both have the same issues:(1) It will not fit over a 1/2" rod with spinning and as much force as possible by hand. The inside diameter of the handle is a tight 7/16" and does not expand. You might be able to beat on the handle with a block of wood and hammer, but you will likely mar the rod threads, will damage the gold finish on the handle, and will never be able to take off the handle again without cutting it off.(2) The handle is 3-3/8" long and not the advertised 3-1/2". This may not be an issue for some setups, but it left an 1/8" gap between the handle and nut. You might be able to put the handle in a vice and pull on it to stretch out the coils.(3) I expected either solid brass or a heavy brass plating. The handle is steel with what appears to be a thin, cheap gold anodizing. I doubt it is actual brass plating. When I attempted to install the handle on the 1/2" rod, the gold finish wore off of the inside of the handle from just me trying to spin it over the rod.Overall, the description dimensions and claim of brass finish is inaccurate. If you need handle to fit over an actual 1/2" rod and something that is going to last, this isn't a good choice.
