Good for long-term maintenance of leather shoes/boots
First, why my opinion matters? I got a number of heritage leather boots (Americana or 'service boot' style) and about half a dozen of different leather conditioners to use on them, so I get a good practice maintaining/restoring them.First of all, about the brush. It is actually a third brush from this brand that I got my hands on. Previous two brushes, one with dark bristles, one with light bristles, left me with mixed opinions - dark bristles brush was perfect, worked well and lost very little bristles only during first few uses, light bristle brush keeps shedding like a dog no mater how long I keep using it. Good news - this kit included dark-bristled brush, and its performance was top-notch - no shedding, just like my other dark-bristled brush.Second - the conditioner, or leather cream. It has a high percentage of waxes, and because of that it is fairly hard/solid under normal temperatures (under 72F here this time of the year). Because of that it is fairly slow to apply if you try to just melt it with your fingers (I use latex gloves for application) and apply it to the leather. And that is great! Because most people over-apply conditioners to the leather, and it is about as bad for its longevity as neglecting it with no conditioning at all. With this conditioner being fairly solid, it is very easy to apply it in small quantities and it is very easy to control the process - unlike with the oils that tend to be absorbed into leather on contact and are very difficult to spread around thinly. After waiting for some time for leather cream to penetrate the leather a bit and evaporate, quick brushing brings satin shine - perfect for casual leather boots/shoes. As you might be realizing, this conditioner would be not the right kind for long-neglected, dried out shoes/boots - you would want to initially use something with more oils in it and more penetrating power. This one is great for periodic upkeep and maintenance.Last, the polishing cloth. Frankly, I do not have much use for it, since I prefer to apply conditioners with my bare hands (in latex gloves), and buff it off with a brush. I am sure it works well, it looks/feels great, just have not had a chance/need to use it.Which brings us to value. If there was no polishing cloth in this kit - and price would be correspondingly lower - it would be a great value - for me. As it is, I have to say that value is fair, but that is about it.Still, it is a good kit for periodic maintenance of the leather shoes/boots. I found over time that I do not like using colored conditioners (that require different colored jars for different shoes) and really prefer the convenience of neutral conditioner, like the one included.Oh, last but not least. Most of conditioners around have some sort solvent part of their formula, and because of that have a pretty strong smell - and then you either like it or you do not, but they always smell (or stink - depending on the perspective). This is the only conditioner in my collection that is pretty much devoid of smell. If your nose is sensitive, you will appreciate that little detail.

Great for shoe care
The set was a perfect starter to start caring for my leather shoes. The brush did work wonderfully, but I am not sure if it is supposed to lose a lot of the hair when using it. The leather cream worked beautifully giving my leather shoes the shine they deserve. The rag also did wonders with the leather cream. Overall, I recommend the product, but the brush could use some improvement.

Great value
The brush comes with this is big, which is a plus - I was expecting small one. The wax is god and easy to work with. There is a micro-fiber cloth too, but I didn't use it. The whole package is a good value.

Good quality brush and cream
So I recently tried my hand at leather restoration. Have a pair of old boots that were looking very dry and on the verge of cracking. I bought some saddle soap and leather conditioner and set to work. One problem though, I had no brush! I ended up using an old t-shirt and it took forever to work in the products. The tshirt cloth seemed to mostly be smearing it around instead of working it into the leather. That is when i realized that a good horsehair brush for shoe leather conditioning is an must. So, when I saw this on here I ordered it right away. I recieved it soon after. Inside the box is 1 horsehair brush, 1 terrycloth with a black border and a Cobblers choice patch, and a 2oz tin of leather cream. "Restore, waterproof, protect" written on the cover, along with "Made with natural ingredients." The quality of this brush is good. The grip is solid wood of some kind. Very well sanded and finished with very thin layer of some kind of hard transparent finish for longevity. Both sides of the wood are grooved for the fingers, making it easy to grip the brush as I work the leather. The bristles are soft and dense. They give my boots that professional shine, much better than using cloth. The other items in the box are good too. The terrycloth looks cool with the border and patch, but it's also made of soft microfiber wich is perfect for its intended use. The cream is on par with or better than most leather creams I've used. Not a bad little package. I see it's priced up there bit I can justify that because the implements included here are pretty nice. In this case you're paying for better quality.
