Camco 40032 Polar White Plumbing Vent Kit

Purchased 2 to replace old decaying ones on a new to me 07 R-Travel TRAIL-LITE F17 bantam. Get some butyl tape and dicor, you can re-use old screws if theyre rust free, if any rust is present checknfor water damage and repair that, snd use new screws. Easy peasy install. Look great. Now I just need to finish resealing my roof for many years of use!

I really only needed the cap to these but I'm glad I purchased the whole this as opposed to the cap with the metal clip to install. When I removed the old caps the plastic base just disintegrated so I replaced the whole deal. Make sure you have some sealant on had for this job to keep the water out after replacement. Its a quick and easy swap out, just pull the screws out, clean the old butal sealant off, put new sealant on the ring and screw it back down. All better now and only cost 10 bucks and about 30 minutes to do both vents.

Nothing fancy, but it works. Easy to intall using existing screws. This item does not come with new screws. I replaced my old vent that crumbled into tiny bits and pieces. This vent looks very simular but the top cap was a little different. Hope this one lasts a long time, maybe I'll paint it to protect it from future UV damage.

Many reviews state that this is one molded piece, and not two pieces connected together. This is true out of the box, HOWEVER... there are four "standoffs" plus one indentation, evidently for a screw hole/fastener hole. Two of the four standoffs are permanently molded to the cap, while two of them are built with dual plastic inserts (think tongue in groove if you will). The two standoffs farthest away from the indentation are permanent, so if you want to separate the cap from the base, you will need a small cutoff wheel (like a Dremel) to cut those two standoffs. With the standoffs farthest away from the indentation cut, you can then lift up on the cap, and it will separate from the base! Yes! Now with the cap off, I used a drill bit to drill a hole in the bottom of the indentation, which allows me to use a wood screw to secure the cap to the existing base on the top of my RV. Simply push the cap down onto your base's existing connectors (remember, you cut two of them off farthest from the screw hole, so they shouldn't interfere with your base's pin connectors that stick up), and then drive a screw through the hole you made in the cap into the receiving cylinder in the base. It's almost like this was meant to be secured to the base with this screw. Nevertheless, these steps will allow you to replace JUST THE CAP without pulling up your RV's roof, the sealant tape, or self-leveling sealant, which opens up a can of worms if your roof isn't leaking, and all you need to do is replace the cap. The fit was perfect. It worked out great for us.

My old RV plumbing vents on my 2004 class C Chevy Coachmen were pretty worn and 1 of the struts had broken on one of the old domed models so I replaced both. The biggest challenge is removing old lap sealant to get these things off without damaging the underlying rubber roof. Careful work with a putty knife was required. For good measure I put some Dicor Seal Tite corner seal around the pipe before replacing the cover and resealing with Dicor self-leveling lap sealant. The is not complicated, just takes a little time and care, but still took less than an hour to remove, replace and reseal two plumbing vents. "Bonus" - finding an pld, thankfully uninhabited wasp nest in the old vent 😳.

Great direct replacement for the original vent caps on my 05 rockwood roo. Bought these and just used the caps because it was cheaper than buying the replacement caps by themselves. Saved the bases because I see a roof replacement in the near future, might as well install them then instead of buying again if I can remember where I put them.

Fixed my RV a few year ago with this vent. The old one was all cracked. Works perfectly.

the shape and design are nice just the plastic looks a little too thin. Only time will tell if my gut feeling about these breaking with the sun shortly. I will update next year and let you know the status of the caps.

Awesome fit, went right over the old rotten vents, a little PL adhesive, few small screws and brand new again, such a good feeling to know that no water is going to leak past,
