I was able to 'cut' through three inches of expanded foam quite easily, although the rod quickly cooled down when doing this and it became harder to 'cut' the foam. The tool has a swivelling rod, that adjusts its 'cutting' angle. I did not like this as the mechanism does not lock and would rotate in the middle of a 'cut' However, I am very satisfied.

As other reviews, this is only suitable for hobby craft. Use carefully and delicately with projects like cutting foam for chair cushions. Be careful of the smoke as it literally burns through the foam. The blade should have been flat instead of cylindrical as the cut is uneven at best. Does the job though.

A very useful tool for cutting styrofoam. Worth every cent.

After 5 mins of use, the metal tip broke and it no longer heats, so pointless now.

A great piece of kit. I used this on foam in order to cut out shapes for a costume and it worked really well. Just ensure you do it in a well ventilated space because a lot of smoke can occur

The media could not be loaded.  Loved how quick and smooth this tool cuts through polystyrene.I bought for the swivel handle if I need to use in a confined space, this doesn’t lock (that’s why it’s a 4 not 5 star) so just be aware it can swivel the wrong way. Just takes minimum practice to know how to hold it.It’s a stinky job (poly and styrofoam are toxic) so wear a well fitting mask and use in well ventilated area. A dust mask is not really adequate.I used a medical covid mask but could still smell the fumes.This did the job and I would highly recommend. Beats using a knife or trying to snap the polystyrene.

Used this product on several occasions since I purchased it and worked well in cutting and shipping the foam. Would not recommend using it indoors because of the fumes generated by the heated foam.

El producto parece frágil pero quizá no lo sea. Lo ensellé por pocos minutos y funcionó genial. Llegó dentro de lapso y bien empacado. Su caja es sencilla pero apropiada. Espero poder utilizarlo mucho y si es prudente y permitido, agregar más a esta opinión

El hilo es muy flojo, a eso que lo fuerces un poco porque no quema bien pues se parte. Es barato, pero los accesorios son caros.

Ich war am Anfang eher ein wenig skeptisch, weil ich davon ausgegangen bin, dass die Schnitttiefe begrenzt ist und man eher dünnere Platten schneiden kann.....aber siehe da, mit dem Heizstab konnte ich heute problemlos 3 cm starke Styroporplatten ausschneiden. Kreisausschnitte und Rundungen sind gut machbar und ich gehe davon aus, dass das sogar mit 6 cm starken Platten funktioniert....natürlich muss man dann den Vortrieb etwas langsamer und geduldiger halten. Ich bin jedenfalls zufrieden bei dem Preis.
