Speedmaster Wax Bicycle Chain Lube - Special formula allows the wax to stays on chain longer. Unlike oil, wax do not attract dirt, as a result, it is long lasting, low maintenance, super clean and lowest friction on your bicycle chain. Simply bath your bicycle chain in our special formulated Speedmaster Wax. Each application can last up to 400+ miles on dry on optimal condition or 200+ miles on wet/dirty condition. Why Wax bath: If hot wax is poured into cold metal chain, it will form a thick layer of wax. As result, the wax will easily come off in a chunk. However, if you wax bath your chain, and let the chain's temperature rise, it will allow the wax to form a protective layer, which is a better wax adhesive to the metal. At the same time, since the molten wax will have a low viscosity, it can penetrate into the tiny gap of the rollers. Preparation: Strip any grease and oil off the chain before waxing. To clean your chain, we recommend using ultrasonic cleaner, degreaser or mineral spirit. This also apply on brand new factory chain. We recommend you to clean your chain ring, rear cogs and pulley wheels as well. How to wax your chain: Step 1: Place dry and clean chain (free of oil and dirt) into the wax can. Step 2: Add water to pot (approx 1 inches tall) and place the wax can into the pot. Bring water to boil. This method is also known as double boiler method. Step 3: Once the wax is melted, turn the heat down to simmer and let the chain submerge for about 10 minutes. Step 4: Turn off all heat and let it cool for a while (15-30 minutes). Lastly, take out the chain from the wax can. Once installed, it may requires a few revolutions to loosen up the wax for break-in. *Please always proceed with caution.
