Hi Res Bluetooth Earbuds Perfected (Nearly)
Before purchasing the Edifier NeoBuds Pro 2 earbuds, I read quite a few online reviews from professional resources. A few of the reviews indicated that these particular offerings from Edifier were a bit bright, with the balanced armature providing overpowering high end notes that needed tamed using the EQ adjustment within the Edifier Connect app. In fact, one reviewer used the words "physically painful," which was concerning indeed. Having read this a few times across a few different reviews, admittedly I was concerned, but chose to purchase them anyway. As an audiophile with many years of experience researching and auditioning audio gear, I've learned that audio preferences is such a personal choice.Bottom line here based on my audition of these hi res earbuds is that they are in fact (nearly) perfect, or as nearly perfect as a set of hi res bluetooth earbuds can be. Unlike the reviews I read, I found the musicality of the Neobuds Pro 2s to be quite faithful to the original artist's intent. I listened to four different albums across a spectrum of music genres, all streaming from Tidal in that service's "Max" mode (192kHz, 24 bit FLAC). After listening to a selected track or album, I then listened to the same track/album on my media equipment (Emotiva Preamp/Processor, Emotiva 5 channel amplifier, Aerial Acoustics speakers, and connected with a balanced audio interconnect to a HiBy hi res DAP/DAC). Don't get me wrong here, I'm not at all suggesting that these earbuds can compete with the likes of a full-scale audio setup, but what I am saying is that I found the earbuds reproduction of the highs, mids, and lows to be very sonically accurate, well balanced with excellent sound stage, and not at all bright as some reviewers suggested they would be.Additional positive elements I've noted about these earbuds in the short time that I've owned them is they come with some great features, one in particular that is quite novel and appreciated, but do lack a feature that's become increasingly common place. On the positive side of things, the great features include outstanding noise cancelling capability, streaming in LDAC and Spatial Audio, battery life that is second to none (again I've listened to four complete albums streaming in hi res, and have the earbuds set to their LDAC mode, and I'm still in the mid to low-90 percent battery life range on both buds), and although some may not care for it, a great feature within the app that allows the user to change the LED color on the case. I really appreciated the personalization offered by something as simply as changing the LED color, and have never owned a set of bluetooth earbuds that offered a similar feature. On the not-so-positive side of things - Edifier, no wireless charging, really? At the $130 price point the lack of this feature is a bit unforgivable. Additionally, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2, and even the SoundCore Liberty 4 Pros, the inclusion of fixed Spatial Audio would've been appreciated. I enjoy Spatial Audio, but I prefer a fixed listened experience, vice dynamic head tracking, which is the only listening mode available on the Neobuds Pro 2s. Luckily, the outstanding sound quality, the first and foremost job of any set of headphones, wired or wireless, coupled with LDAC and Spatial Audio streaming, outstanding noise cancellation, excellent battery life, integrated Edifier Connect app, and the novel LED feature, help me get over my disappointment of the lack of wireless charging. And I was able to snag the buds while they were on sale, putting my spend at just above $100, which at that price point softens the blow from the lack of wireless charging considerably. The Edifier NeoBuds Pro 2s are a great choice for those looking for a new set of Bluetooth earbuds capable of streaming in hi res (Android only - Apple users, sorry, take it up with them on why they don't want to pay royalty fees to the likes of Sony and Qualcomm). You get a lot of bang for your buck in a set of outstanding sounding earbuds that simply don't disappoint. Like me, read the online reviews for these sure, but be open-minded about what you read until you have an opportunity to audition them yourself. From a sound quality perspective I think you'll find these earbuds to be among the very best offerings in the hi res Bluetooth earbuds market to date. As for things like the lack of fixed vs. dynamic head tracking for Spatial Audio streaming, hopefully that's just a firmware update away from being offered in future.

Good sound, with some tuning (and after a replacement)
I have had these for a few months - however, my first pair ended up failing on me (the left earbud went muddy and dropped the highs, which probably was due to the balanced armature driver malfunctioning), and since it was under warranty Edifier replaced it. The replacement process was fairly painless, after some slight back and forth (they wanted me to make a video of the earbud sound to understand the issue, which would not show on a video of course - as it was only a sound quality issue, not a complete dropoff). Regardless, after that they replaced it without any concerns, and the new pair is working well.I will say, in general I love Edifier - I have had the TWS Pro (which are a bit boomy, but at their price point were great at the time), and the NB2 Pro (basically a similar version to this one, but weaker ANC), plus some open ear buds. The Neobuds Pro 2 are the best of the lot by far, and there's quite a bit to like about both their sound and the ANC. The ANC is really one of the best at this price point, up there with the Earfun Air Pro 4. The sound is rich and full, and the volume is great (I rarely run these above the volume midpoint, especially when ANC is engaged).I did notice that they do get a bit bright in the sound, and yes the treble out of the box is out of whack. The EQ does allow you to mostly solve for this (and I say mostly because it only goes to 10K Hz, and looking at the curve on some reviews where they graphed them in comparison with the Harman curve there are some peaks above 10K which you will not be able to solve for); and I find that the settings that I pictured above really help them sound a lot more chill while not losing resolution.Battery life I think is the only real downside - especially if you engage both ANC and LDAC together, they really underperfom against competitors like the Earfun Air Pro 4 by about 50% or so (we are talking 3-4 hrs vs. 6-7 hrs, which makes a difference during long flights, for example). But I still use them a bit for short stints.Overall a good product, definitely tweak the EQ and you will enjoy them better.

Excellent earbuds. Only one minor problem.
The Edifier NeoBuds Pro 2 are excellent. The sound that they produce is balanced very well. Some people may say that the bass is lacking, but the bass shouldn't overpower the rest of the music. It's tuned such that all instruments are easily audible, which is perfect. The lows are very good, never "muddy" sounding. The mids can feel a little drowned out sometimes by the highs, which feel a little overpowering depending on the song. This is likely because the highs get their own Balanced Armature Driver, whereas the lows and mids share a standard Dynamic Driver. The EQ that is built into the app works, though isn't very useful. It only has 3 bands. My phone is rooted, so I have the luxury of using an external equalizer to turn down the 8khz bump in the frequency response range. I only do this because sometimes it can hurt my ears when listening at higher volumes, as I'm sensitive to higher frequencies. The active noise canceling works amazingly. I've had my whole family test them with both ANC on and off. They all agreed that it was better than they were expecting. From my testing at my busy university cafe, I don't hear much after turning ANC on. It turns the loud drone of many voices down to almost nothing while retaining audio quality. I don't believe that the quality takes any kind of hit while ANC is turned on, which is rare for earbuds in this price range. The other thing that I don't see mentioned much here is usage without the app. I'm a developer, so I frequently use these earbuds on the go with my laptop. It's great that the earbuds work well with your phone, but how well do they work with a device that can't run the Edifier Connect app? Well, pretty good actually. The earbuds remember the settings from the phone that configures them. If I turned on ANC when my phone was last connected, they'll remember that for when my laptop connects, even though I can't use the Edifier Connect app from my laptop. This is nice, and the right way to do it in my opinion. I feel like many devices would just reset to the "defaults" when connecting to a new device, and turn off the ANC or listening mode. The Neo Buds Pro 2 doesn't do this. Finally, we get to my only issue with these buds. They don't stay in my ears well. Apologies if this is a bit of a weird note, but my body produces a lot of earwax. The silicone tips don't do a great job of gripping the insides of my ear canal. I moved to the Neo Buds Pro 2 from the Google Pixel A-Series, which has a little silicone notch that hooks in the top of my ear to keep it secure. To be fair, the A-Series were my only earbuds before these, so it's also possible that I'm wearing this "stem" style incorrectly. It just feels a bit excessive that even a simple act like chewing causes them to get loose in my ears.I've seen many people here complain about the battery life of these buds. I have yet to drain them past 50%, and I usually listen to them with ANC enabled. I've listened to them for over 3 hours, so I'm not sure if this is just something that they've fixed, or if they were overdriving the buds somehow. I'd declare this a non-issue even for above-casual listening.Hopefully, this review will help some of you decide on whether or not to get these buds. They're pretty solid, and if I have to note a single strong suit, it'd probably be the ANC and high-quality audio.

Buy another brand
This is one of the few times an item has warranted a review from me. The key portion is: Do not buy. Spend a little more, go to Apple or Samsung, or go cheaper. Here is my review: I bought them hoping to use them for sound protection and better speech quality than the cheaper Tozo headsets I was using. The headsets sound good, but dear god, you can adjust the noise cancellation feature by brushing your hair against them, but trying to on purpose.......good luck and godspeed to you on it.For charging, it will generally charge the headsets in the case and is typically 80% of the time. Connections to the phone are randomly disconnected for no reason, even if the phone is a mere foot or two away from them. Somedays, they will work fine....others will randomly disconnect multiple times throughout the day. Annoying is an understatement.Connection distance/strength is also subpar. Most times get 20ft or so from the phone and you start running into connection issues. They also tend to slip out of the ear.The boxing, the charging case, and the earbuds all feel high-quality, but that is about where it stops. I also tried customer service. It was horrible. It took days to respond to an email, there was no way to call, and the response email was of little actual help.I ordered the first pair, but they were not delivered, so I am assuming they were stolen. Amazon was great and sent another pair. I returned those pairs, ordered another pair, and did the same again. So, three pairs. So definitely not a one-off issue. For reference, I have a pair of custom IEM's (64Audio 18T), Campfire Andromeda, Kaiser Noble, Sennheiser CX, Tozo T6, and wireless adapters for my 64audio CIEMS.I prefer to use Tozo T6 for where I purchased these earbuds for. I have to say again, do not buy these. For the price, they are not worth it.

Good sound quality but horrible battery life
Was looking to upgrade my earsbuds to some better sounding ones at a reasonable price. These fit the bill as they sound amazing compared to my Pixel Buds Pro. I can hear better detail in the music thanks to the LDAC codec that is activated in the app and used with Apple Music Hi-Res Lossless. For the price, they're really nice and have a premium look and feel. The tap gestures are nice and the sensitivity as well as the tap functions can be adjusted in app but they take a lil bit getting used to as well as knowing where to tap on the ear buds.On the flip side, battery life is horrible. Whether I have LDAC on or off, they barely last 3 hours at half volume, the case is only good for 1 charge, the app is a lil finicky to use, and at least on my Motorola Edge 2024, I cannot get LDHC to work properly. For whatever reason, the right earbud drains almost at double the speed of the left one even after completely draining them and leaving in the case for 8 hours to recharge. As for the audio codec, I have to go into developer settings on my phone and downgrade the codec from LDHC V5 to LDHC V3/V4 to get sound to play but at that point, I might as well use LDAC like I've been using since both have the same bitrate but LDAC has better connectivity. For the record, I tried my roommate's Sony WF-1000XM5 and LDHC V5 works fine with my phone and Apple Music Hi-Res Lossless so it's the way it's implemented with these earbuds that's the issue. The tips, shile having a larger range of sizes to choose from, are super flimsy and I would suggest getting some universal memory foam tip for better sound isolation. All in all, while I give them 3 out of 5 stars, based on battery life alone, I cannot recommend these in good faith.

A Sympathetic Disappointment in Features Options
As an avid audiophile with a deep collection of earbuds, iems, studio monitors and a vast collection of OTH headphones, I approached the Edifier NeoBuds with high hopes, only to find myself sympathetically disappointed on several fronts.Let's start with design and build quality. The NeoBuds boast a sleek and modern look, but upon closer inspection, the materials used feel somewhat lacking compared to other offerings in this price range. The case is sturdy enough, yet it lacks the premium feel that one might expect from a flagship product.Moving on to sound quality, Edifier has always been known for delivering decent audio performance, and the NeoBuds are no exception. The sound is clear and balanced, though it doesn't quite match up to the fidelity of some competitors in this price bracket. My disappointment deepened when I delved into the features and functionality. The control scheme, while functional, is surprisingly limited. Basic actions like play/pause and volume control are there, but the lack of customization options or granular mapping feels like a missed opportunity. Many budget-friendly alternatives offer more versatile controls that cater to diverse user preferences.Perhaps the most glaring omission in a product positioning itself as a flagship is the absence of wireless charging. In today's market, where even more affordable brands like Tranya and Tozo manage to include wireless charging at significantly lower price points, this oversight is hard to overlook. While cost considerations may have played a role, it's disappointing not to see this feature included, especially for users who value convenience. As someone who relies heavily on earbuds throughout the day, ranging from 8 to 20 hours of use, I found myself wanting more from the NeoBuds. The lack of advanced controls and the absence of wireless charging detract from what could otherwise be a compelling offering from Edifier. In conclusion, while the Edifier NeoBuds deliver satisfactory sound quality and a respectable design, they fall short in terms of features and functionality compared to other options in the market. For a product at this price point, I expected more innovation and attention to detail. As much as I wanted to like them, the compromises in key areas leave me hesitant to recommend them wholeheartedly, especially to discerning users who prioritize comprehensive control options and modern conveniences like wireless charging.

Why spend more ?
I won't mention other products on this review just know this pound for pound is one of the best audio experiences you can get.Hi-res certified. CheckGood design, checkPause when removed , checkI don't even know if these multipoint , I don't care because I honestly feel like that feature is as niche as niche can be. I listen to music two places the gym and my work commute. I'm only listening on device , when I am home I watch my TV or use my gaming monitor. So you see my friends. That feature is useless for a man like myself .The battery life is acceptable my work commute is an hour , Im at the gym for two . If I'm at the desk I only wear one side for obvious reasons.Sound is very good. I haven't compared ldac/ no ldacNoise cancelling is ok I feel like I have experienced betterSo to sum it up. Great product battery life underwhelming , if you are going on an international trip and need long battery life without having to stop to put in case these might not be for you .8.8/10 which to me is basically 5 star .Edit battery life is really not good they must fix this next model .

Learn the fit & product app for best results.
I purchased these as a secondary to my Anker Liberty Pro 3. One set is for home use & the other would be for away from home. There are a lot of silcone sizes to choose from for correct fit. The application took me a moment to understand the equilizer setup as well as choosing the codec I wanted to use. I have a Galaxy 23 U & I like using LDAC whenever possible. After dialing the Edifiers in for fit & sound I put them through some tests. For the fit test I did HI-intensity work outs with a lot of jumping & sudden changes in body positioning. I didn't have any issues with the Edifiers staying in place. For the sound test I listened to HIFI music that I know every little nuance for... from bands ranging all genres 50s to today. I found a good setup for my EQ that did a lot of the test songs justice at about 60% to 75% volume. Low end sounds great (you can feel the cleanliness of the bass) mids are crisp & the highs of left unattended can be pitchy but you can reign the soundstage in however you like with some adjustments and time. In the end everything worked out & the price ($100) I bought these at... I feel like the Edifiers meet my needs just fine.

Clarity is 10/10.If you are an audiophile go get this one! You won’t be disappointed at all!I recommend this product for an awesome sound quality.Note: I use my iPhone with Apple Music to listen to all my songs and streaming setting is Hi res lossless
