Q: Is the large crate suitable for a full grown golden retriever?

In my opinion, no, if more than 40 pounds. I have had Goldens and I would not put them in this crate, but mine were upwards of 60 pounds. I use this crate for a 15 pound Bichon and a much larger one for my 40 pound Wheaton. My Bichon has room to stand, stretch out and room for a crate water bowl and toys. Hope this helps.

Q: Are the wood pieces coated with wire inside the cage??

The wire is inside of the wood pieces, it does not cover over the wood pieces inside.

Q: Is the cushion washable?

The outside of the cushion is washable the inner portion is like an egg crate foam and is not machine washable it could be hosed and air dried but can not be washed in a machine. I have had this crate for 1.5 years and have swapped the inner part of the mat out but the outside case is still holding up for my 70 lb lab.
