You need at least one of these in your ‘spares bag’ when out on the bike. Does what they need to do and they snap in place with ease!

Rusts
Worked, but had rust on mine even though i kept it in the cover for the fork air valve. Advise, apply a slight smear of grease on the link whilst stored on the bike.

Don't ride without one (or two)
I keep a quick link in my pack on every ride. I've actually used more of them fixing other people's bikes than my own because they forgot to bring one. Breaking a chain when you're a LONG way out on a trail is no fun if you don't have one of these to get you out. Don't forget to keep a chain breaker tool with you too.
