These Watson 170mm twin-slot shelf white brackets fit securely in the Watson twin-slot uprights, and cannot be simply knocked out by lifting the shelf. They are also very strong, provided the upright has been correctly secured to the wall.The Watson uprights are deeper front to back than the competing system which looks the same. However if the competitor upright is spaced off the wall by a few millimetres then these brackets will fit there too.Fitting the bracket requires inserting it at an angle from above, ensuring the slot in the bracket engages the upright and then swinging the bracket down to rest horizontal. If the shelf is then correctly fixed to the bracket and close to the upright, it cannot be swung up or removed. I think this is a Good Thing from the point of view of Safety even if much less convenient for a quick height adjustment.

Brilliant. I have lots of paper/books and after years of using cheap bookshelves I finally shelled out (or perhaps shelved out?) for these fixing. They were worth the effort and the cost because they are very strong and properly heavy duty.
