I'm having trouble opening the pump, rotating it to the right hasn't worked. Could you tell me the correct way to do it. Thanks

If you hold in place the middle ring (which is in between the top pump and the ring that screws on to the bottle), then twist the top pump to the right, the pump should pop up. I hope that helps. I am diabetic. What ingredient(s) makes the syrup sweet?

The syrup has sucrose, dextrose, and fructose. Basically all monosaccharides, simple sugars. Total Carbohydrates 8g and Sugars 8g. 11/2 pumps is sweet enough on my taste for 6-8 fl. oz coffee.
