Finally a relatable, honest, and realistic book to help you help yourself to a better way to live!! Thank you!!
This book has been a Godsend. I literally have been asking God for help, and I believe he meant for me to come across this book. For years, I have been a people pleaser (to everyone but myself). I beat myself up constantly for my mistakes, and always worry about what others think. I have created more than enough habits to numb out, and then find myself feeling "stuck". This book is the real life version of how to create a better life; not the sugar-coated, everything-will-be-perfect, think happy thoughts, magic pill version of having a better life. Other books have a lot of good information, but never really quite spells it out like you are talking to a friend. Andrea is relatable, honest, and realistic. Thank you for writing this book.

This book is very repetitive & is mostly just “Filler” information.
I really wanted to like this book. My problem with it is the Author repeats the same material in sentence form, 3 different ways, in 3 consecutive sentences. Sorry if I worded that badly. The repetition was maddening, I could not force myself to finish it.

Not the best for everyone.
This book is geared towards women. Which is fine. Just didn't feel included.

Great tools for handling life's inevitable bumps!
I'm a big fan of Andrea Owen and Your Kick Ass Life, and I've been following her (and working personally with her) for years. What makes me keep going back for more is a book like this. Andrea is approachable, honest, vulnerable, and not afraid to share her stories for us to learn from and let us know she's not perfect. And reminds us that we need not be perfect either. I can relate to almost all of these 14 habits, and it's been a work in progress to catch myself in those spirals and pull myself out. This book is a good reminder of the tools and how to apply them. And let me know I'm not alone or crazy for feeling those things. All these things are normal. But if they're holding us back, there are things we can do to remedy that, and Andrea shows us how. I also recommend her podcast, and starting with episode 200 she's been doing a month of daily short episodes (less than 10 minutes) which include the lessons and stories surrounding the writing of this book. I know we can all learn a lot from Andrea, and I highly recommend this book and her work in general. The book is an easy read and you feel like a friend is telling you these things, not some high-and-mighty perfect lecturer who tells you what you're doing wrong.

Must Read for whatever stage of personal development you're in
Get a copy of this book! I I just finished this book as part of a book study group with some master coaches. It is a great read no matter where you are on your journey as it points out 14 ways you may be short changing yourself and your happiness. The author's words from some of the pages:"I wrote this book to fast-track your own self-awareness. I want you to be familiar with what makes you feel like shit and to know your values. Do you know your triggers and how to recognize them? Your chances of a successful life depend on your ability to commit to the inner work and be consistent. What works? Love, kindness, and compassion. All directed to you." Andrea Owen, pps. xiv, xv, 10

Not like all the others
I am a newer follower of Andrea Owen’s podcast: Your Kick Ass Life and after listening to several episodes about her discussing her book, I decided to pre-order! Well, my book arrived on the date of the book release, January 2nd, and I finished it that night! If you’ve been feeling a little scattered and wondering what might be holding you back, you should really pick up a copy of this book. If you want a better insight of Andrea before purchasing, check out her free podcast I mentioned earlier. Thank you Andrea for your hard work, and I look forward to the book club starting up soon!!

I probably won’t stop feeling like sh*t today but....
The book is set up so you understand the habit and gives you suggestions and examples on what to do. All stuff you can implement immediately. There is some homework and list making, but all in all pretty happy with the book.

Worth every penny
I was nervous about buying this book... I'd read a mix of reviews. (Mostly good but even the few bad reviews had me skeptical)Let's get honest. If you think you are going to read this book once, put it down and be a changed person just because you flipped the pages.. dont bother. If you're willing to actually read this book, digest the material, and take the suggestions/answer the questions the author asks you, buy it.I've read many personal development books, but this is the BEST I've ever picked up.Some chapters made me cry. Some opened up some wounds I was putting bandaids over, some opened my eyes to things I didn't realize I was doing. This book is a tool. A life raft for someone who is mentally drowning at sea.I've read it twice now, have started implementing the practices and can honestly say it's improved my mental health by leaps and bounds.

Worth a read if you want to start thinking differently
Really useful and humorous take on life lessons from a females perspective. When you need to get outside your head and start thinking differently.

One to revisit
Plenty of good advice, delivered in a “just do it” sense. One definitely for me to revisit again in the future.

Good, but not great.
I enjoyed the chapter on values and can recognise some of the habits in myself, such as isolation and catastrophizing. Others like blaming others weren’t applicable. The book gives good prompt on where I start, but to tackle them all would likely be overwhelming.
