Easy to use & economical size
I have had a large, branded slow cooker for about 18 months, so am familiar with their advantages over hob/oven cooking, but it's always seemed a bit wasteful of energy to be running such a large appliance when cooking for two, which I use it for most of the time. This small slow cooker solves the problem. Granted, it offers a little less in terms of features - primarily not having an auto function to switch to "warm" after a fixed time, but this isn't a huge issue, as I can plan to do this manually if needed, I usually don't use the warm function and food isn't likely to suffer from being on low heat a while longer than needed anyway. This is perfect for 2, and it's reassuring to know we're only using minimum energy to cook a meal. In addition, the power draw is so low that I could run this off a power station when camping (which runs devices up to 500w). The performance cooking a lamb curry was exactly what I'd expect from the larger slow cooker, but at a lower energy cost. It's really easy to clean in the dishwasher, and of course the bowl takes up a lot less space in the washer than the large one.As I now only need the larger one to cook for 4 every 4-8 weeks, I've been able to put it in a cupboard and this one has taken its place on the worktop, freeing up a lot of valuable space.

Perfect for my son in uni.
This Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker, with its 1.8L capacity, is just the right size for 1-2 people, making it a handy choice for busy students like my son at uni. It's super easy for him to whip up a batch of soup or stew before bed, simply by adjusting the knob to low or high heat. Then, when he wakes up in the morning, he's greeted with a warm and hearty meal, ready to eat. With its basic settings of low, high, and warm, this slow cooker keeps things simple and fuss-free. Plus, the ceramic pot is a breeze to clean, whether he decides to wash it by hand or toss it in the dishwasher (though he usually prefers the former). At just £20, it's an affordable option that offers great value for money. Overall, this slow cooker is easy to use and useful for my son, making meal prep a whole lot easier.
