Automatic Center Punch Tool with HSS Tip Spring Loaded Brass Body (Black)

I bought this punch as I have been caught out recently with my old manual punch. I simply haven't had enough hands to hold the punch, use a hammer, and hold the piece in place.I bought this punch so I could use it with one hand. I am just disappointed at the strength of the strike when I use the punch. It just doesn't give me a good enough center point with one go and sometimes it takes 2 or 3 strikes to get a center mark that I want. This means that I have to make sure that I get the correct point every time and this makes it a bit of a pain. Only 3 stars sadly. Not terrible, but not great either.

The item I received doesn't work and I cannot return it unless I have a printer to print a return label or I could take it to a post office and they would print the label except I don't have the internet on my mobile phone. So I'm stuck with a punch that doesn't work. Not happy.

The unit does have a tendency to jam, despite stripping it down and cleaning and lubricating, it still doesn't work every time. Once it does activate it does punch mild steel quite well, the tip seems to hold it's shape well.

Good one handed use for marking drill points in different materials inc sheet metal and plastic or wood. Push down. Hear the pop and remove. Simple. Leaves a small indent enough to locate a drill point for pilot hole. Smashing.

I was using this to guide my screw positions whilst cladding my daughters playhouse, however during the first "session" of use, the punch stopping "punching". I tried disassembling and reassembling but to no avail. Seems this was a waste of money for me.Would happily try another if the seller would be kind enough to send another.But for me, this is now pretty useless.

Like someone else here said, it didn't work Everytime at first but I took his advice and just took it apart and put it back together which is unbelievably simple to do and now it works Everytime, for this price you have to get it, it's an essential even of you won't use it all the time but that one day you may need it, your life will be a hell of a lot easier, say bye bye to slipping drill bits :)

Sadly it doesn’t work every time. In fact it probably only pushes effectively about 10% of the time.

Really easy to use centre punch. A quick sharp tap with a hammer at your desired location really does provide a great starting point for drill bits. I've had no slippages from drill bits since using this making drill work so much more accurate.
