Great shoes for my foot shape!
These are a dream for me! Nice wide toe box without a wide heel. My toes spread very wide and my heels are narrow (my feet are shaped a lot like a flipper). Every pair of running shoes I have ever had has made my outside toes go to sleep and/or hurt. These let my toes spread out, not just improving balance, but allowing my feet to be in their natural state, not smooshed. Heels don't slip. Cushioning and arch support are perfect for me. Can't say enough good. They do run a little short. Paying attention to the size chart and reviews is important for this brand. I had to return the first pair I ordered in my usual size and order a size up. Great buy for the price and great shoe!!

This is the Altra quality that hooked me years ago
I have worn Altras for several years now. I'm not a runner unless being chased. I what I am is a gal that works in Surgery assisting Anesthesia. I work 8 hrs, 5 days a week. And I put in on a slow day 4 miles of walking. Busy days can be up to 6.5 miles. So I need a shoe that can keep up with me and comfort my feet. The Paradigm 6 did not let me down. Altra has a bad habit of messing with something that ain't broken. So it's nice to have a great fitting shoe back on the market. The toe box is nice and roomy so when your foot splays it doesn't get constricted by the shoe. The stack height is great for those feet that can't stand being so close to the hard floor. When I step I feel that soft impact to my foot. Do size up because they do run a half size small. If you wear special inserts I suggest you go a whole size up.I may be buying extra pairs of the Paradigm 6 to have available just in case Altra decides to mess with a good thing again. Altra if you're interested in these reviews, please do not change a thing on this shoe.

Pretty much perfect!
This is one of the best pairs of running / walking shoes I've ever owned. The unique shape of Altra's shoes works really well for my feet as I have wide toes but a narrow heel. With most shoes, I usually end up either getting blisters on my heels or wearing my toes out of the side of the shoes - Altra's shoes fit my feet well, are comfortable, and don't wear out a month in from rubbing my toes on the sides. This is the first time I've ever seen a higher support shoe from Altra, and I'm very glad I found them. I've enjoyed their trail running shoes before, but they are very low support. I've been suffering from plantar fasciitis and have needed more support than the trail running shoes provide, and these were the perfect result. My current pair has already lasted many miles, and I fully expect to buy another pair as soon as they wear out.

Better than the 7
Love the feel of these shoes in the achilles area, but I truly wish that they were as cushioned as the 7, but the 7 hurt the back of my ankles so bad.

Good for plantar fasciitis
So far so good. Only worn two days. These are my workout tennis shoes. I walk fast on a treadmill; not a runner & do a lot of weight training. I also have plantar fasciitis. These seem to give me a good amount of support. However I still added a plantar fasciitis insert for more structure. I'm a 6.5 & they are true to size.

Squeaks but I love them
The zero differential between the toe and heel helps my plantar fasciitis. I find the toe box to be comfortable. I do have to adjust the laces carefully to make them tight enough for my more narrow heel but not too tight on the top of the foot. I like the blue color.

100+ Best Shoes Ever
These are the BEST shoes ever. I've been running in a pair of Superior 5s for months and they've helped strengthen my injured foot. But they're too wide for my foot and the platform is so wide, I scuff myself in the ankle constantly. But THESE shoes are genius. First, they look like normal shoes, not corrective shoes. I wear them all the time. Second, the heel and mid-sole are solid and that little corrective tab tells me when my roll is off by putting pressure on my arch. When I take them off, I notice my heels are still landing flat instead of rolling to the inside so they are actually correcting my bone alignment. I love them so much, I ordered a second pair of these and a pair of the Paradigm 7s which are $$$ but I'm more confident they will be fabulous now that I've tried these.

Not your typical Altras
I purchased these looking for MAX cushion from a brand and shoe I've grown to love & trust. These definitely have more cushion than my provision pair, however these do not respond in the same capacity. These Paradigms have side-wall support built in. Do your homework & determine if you need a neutral or supported shoe before investing in these. So far I've put 50+ miles in these, and have not had a single run I loved. My feet are hot and sweaty, they feel restricted and just mad at the end of my runs. I'm passed the return window, so will continue to use these as an easy run trainer.
