OspreyKatari 7L Men's Biking Backpack with Hydraulics Reservoir, Black

This 7L model is what we needed for long mountain bike rides and camping hikes. It fits me well, 5'11", 190 lbs., male, and with a 2.5L fluid capacity it offers easily enough fluid for two of us hiking and biking all day. I particularly like the deep black fabric, super sturdy while flexible. The wide shoulder straps stay flat and comfortable throughout the day. I prefer a smaller pack like this for city walks when we are traveling particularly in foreign countries. I remove the hydration reservoir, and have inside the front compartment 2 knit holders for standard plastic water bottles (10-18 oz would fit), and on the outside there are 2 sleeves to hold even larger water bottles as needed. The long front zipper opens for full and easy access to the entire compartment with plenty of space for our typical camera, umbrella, small water bottles, small tripod, phones and snacks when on a city hike. The full zipper goes way up under the Osprey logo flap which not only keeps the opening rain proof, but it also prevents pick-pocket attempts if the zipper was left in full view. This is both our new travel pack as well as bike - hike pack, love it!

The 7l has great storage and fits really well, the only downside is my chest is wide and the drinking tube doesn't fit across my chest
