I'm not sure...
I have never used anything like this before, so I have no frame of reference for it. I also haven't used it that much to be able to attest to whether it works or not. It has provided a decent stretch to my neck though, so that's cool.

Good stretch but HARD
So this "pillow" is rock hard and quite uncomfortable. I assume it does need to be stiff to provide the proper support to help realign the next and for the pressure point nobs to do their job but they could have at least provided a little bit of padding. The hardness really does make it very undesirable to use when my neck is super sore (when I really need it).As for its functionality, it does seem to help relieve my neck stiffness. When I do use it regularly, I can tell the difference.Overall, if you can get past the uncomfortably hardness, it does provide a good stretch.

Uncomfortable
Neck and Shoulder Relaxer, Chiropractic Pillow Neck Stretcher,Cervical Traction Device Neck Stretcher for TMJ Pain Relief and Muscle Relax Chiropractic Pillow for Spine Alignment (Grey/Black) - I found this neck stretcher to be fairly uncomfortable during use. It seems like it does help stretch out the stiffness, but this thing is hard. You can feel the plastic inside digging in. It gives an extra pad that you can velcro down, but then that was a bit too much height. I was comparing and contrasting against the c-shaped stretcher that I have. I tried this one because it looked like it would be more comfortable and perhaps more ergonomic. It ends up being quite the opposite and I will stick with my c-shaped stretcher.

Not a pillow
This device wasn't a pillow but more hard foam shaped pad covered in fabric so for me was a disappointment. I chose it over the hard plastic cervical devices with the same end thinking it would be more comfortable, and while I can't really compare I can say this wasn't comfortable at all. In fact it poked in all the wrong places, and the added pillow only added to the poking. That can be removed (attached by velcro) which does make the stretcher a little smoother. With that removed and adding some of my own padding via thick folded washcloth it is tolerable and does give a decent stretch. But since I can already roll a towel to get a similar effect as a stretcher I really shouldn't have to do that. So while this device isn't a total fail, it definitely needs more work. I would suggest either softer foam or to make the foam itself smoother underneath the fabric cover. Or stop calling it a pillow, because it certainly doesn't feel like one.

Mixed feelings about this
I've never tried anything like this before, but I've had neck issues (but no TMJ) for years. I have mixed feelings about this- it seems well-made & well-intended, but I don't find it to be comfortable, & I can't say for sure that it's helping me at all. That's not saying it won't help you, though. I think it all depends, because we're not all the same, & if it might help, it might be worth a try. I'm giving it the "benefit of the doubt" as we say. As with any sort of physical therapy, it can take time, & I didn't want to wait "forever" to evaluate this, so if my experience with it changes, I guess I'll update this.

Great Neck Stretcher
I got this to help stretch my neck. the product is very easy to use. I listen to music or podcasts when I stretch. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a good neck stretch.

Concerned the pillowcase wont last.
This Neck and Shoulder Relaxer will provide some relief, but I am skeptical about durability; the actual "stretcher" is rubber and will hold up well, but I feel like the pillowcase is going to fall apart. It just really doesn't feel like the fabric that will last, especially where you attach the booster pad. That said, it provides some relief when my neck is tense. I have TMJ and a compressed disk, so I actively ward off issues before they fully come on. I believe this will be effective.

Relieves neck pain but with some limitations
The product design is good for relieving the neck pain and stiffness. It has an unique design to help the neck with a curvature that goes to the sides. I tried it for 10 mins for few days after I got out of my bed to relieve the neck stiffness. It helps greatly, but the issue is with the plastic support and there is not much foam to cover it. As a result, the plastic parts are uncomfortable and seem to poke you in the neck. There is a small foam provided at the top portion and it helps to some extent, maybe the manufacturer should have provided something similar at the other parts as well. Overall, it helps but need to be cautious.
