A Must Read For Cozy Mystery Fans!
Daisy Bloom returns to her hometown after leaving Lillymouth in a black cloud. Returning as the town's new vicar, Daisy tries to shed her past reputation and find out who killed her gran fifteen years ago. Although a lot had changed in the village during her time away, some things or rather some people had not. In the attempt to find her gran's murderer, Daisy stumbles on a motive that may be related to two deaths that were initially deemed accidental. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves British Cozy Mysteries.

First in a new series
It must be hard to start a new series and keep it going but I think the author has done that with this series:she makes you want to know how things are going to develop in the village

Great Book
I really enjoyed this first book in R.A. Hutchins new series. It was beautifully written, and I didn't figure out who the killer was until the end. There are many great characters in the book and a few I love to hate!

Sorry, but...
I'm sorry to have to say this. Although I know we are all being very careful with gender-specific pronouns these days, one person cannot be a they, or a their, or a they're. Surely there is a better way to be non-specific than that.

Lovely, gentle mystery
R.A. Hutchins is a new author to me, so I started with this book, which is the first in her series, The Lillymouth Mysteries. Fresh as a Daisy features a female vicar, Daisy Bloom (love the name!) who arrives in Lillymouth to take up position as the village's new vicar. However, Lillymouth isn't new to Daisy. She lived there as a child, but left after a traumatic event that she still carries with her in her heart - the murder of her own beloved gran. So naturally, she's not exactly over the moon to be returning to the place.Sure enough, things get off to a bad start, and before long Daisy's embroiled in a case of murder. Now the former police support officer turned vicar must play private detective, solve the mystery, and perhaps, just perhaps, find some sort of resolution for her own troubled past.I really enjoyed this gentle mystery. Lillymouth is a pretty little village set on the Yorkshire coast, and Daisy is a great character, living with both a physical disability and anxiety. There's some humour, particularly around Daisy's relationship with the various creatures that she finds herself landed with, including a bird and a grouchy cat who definitely thinks it's in charge. There's an interesting cast of characters in the village, and I can see this going on to be a long-running series. Recommended for those who like a comforting, cosy mystery in a lovely rural setting.

A charming and suspenseful murder mystery
Daisy Bloom, returns to her home fifteen years after escaping. Still scarred by the murder of her grandmother, the perpetrator never caught. Daisy has returned as the new Vicar, hoping for a new start. Arriving at the vicarage , police are investigating a terrible accident. Or is it? When she discovers the body of her housekeeper, it becomes clear there is a murderer on the loose. So she decides to do some amateur sleuthing. The animal antics of her new housemates, à cat who thinks he is in charge, a mimicking mynah bird and a large white rabbit provide the humour. A compelling murder mystery, I loved it.

Nicely written
The story line was quite clever and held my attention but I'm afraid I really didn't like the Rev Daisy Bloom one little bit. Or, perhaps I wasn't supposed to like her?
