I use anipsyll as a preventative for sand colic. Our soil is 80% sand and my horses all eat off the ground. So far so good. I have been using it for 3 years now.

Palatable
This particular brand was recommended to me by my vet. I was worried about using a powdered form because I have always used pellets but both of my horses ate it without any problems.

My horse licks his bucket clean!
My vet reccomends powdered psyllium. Normally my horse will not eat other powders without mixing in vegetable oil as a bribe. He really likes this brand and will lick his bucket clean with out an oil bribe! I can just mix it in a small amount of grain! Yay!

In fact I feel that the stools were better without supplementing with this product
I am a veterinarian with decades of pet food experience. I have used other psyllium produds in dogs, cats, monkeys, and myself to promote a formed stool. This product is unbelievably less expensive than other psyllium products so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, after several trials with product from different containers the results were disappointing, to say the least. In fact I feel that the stools were better without supplementing with this product. I have first hand experience with companies not being truthful in their label. Excuse my cynicism, but I wonder how much psylliuim is actually in this product.I reached out the the company in an effort to talk with their veterinarian but was told to email her since she did not take phone calls. I emailed her but have yet to get a response.

A lot cheaper than sand clear, who knows if it works for sure . Some studies I read, claim that senior feed which is high in fiber, does a better job. My horses had put on weight and seem to be happy and content.
