Advanced Biology Statistics by Andrew Edmondson (1996-06-05) Paperback

I bought this book to help me understand how to carry out statistical tests and which ones to use in the first place. I should explain that I am a teacher and I wanted to be in a position to help my a level students. This book certainly did that! It should be noted that my very bright a level students would have struggled using this book without teacher intervention. But this would be fine for someone completing an undergraduate degree as you will have an idea of what you doing in the first place hopefully! I did not buy the latest version of this book but still found the book incredibly helpful. It doesn’t have any computational statistics instructions but there are lots of books that do that. This is great if you want to do calculations by hand or using excel. There is an explaination and step by step guide followed by examples to try. My students were all successful at picking the right test and carrying it out correctly. I’d thoroughly recommend the book. Even if you are not a science student, this book is still very helpful for the statistics.

This is a good book for students just higher than beginners level. It is also only statistics without any computational packages tutorials.
