Martinez's Pregnant Wife: A Passionate Christmas Romance (Convenient Christmas Brides)

I hated the hero. There is no redeeming him in my opinion. His sudden capitulation at ten minutes to midnight on New Years Eve was just a little too hard to believe. That poor heroine. He had her pulled in so many different directions. I did admire her strength though. That scene at the beginning of the book when he kicks her out of bed was just awful. And the way he treated her over the pregnancy news? Horrendous!! He was no hero to me. His constant crying about how he can't love just gets old. I thought maybe he would break down at the cottage but no, he just got worse. He was such a selfish jerk. It was all about him. I could go on and on but I think you are picking up on what I'm laying down; The hero sucked.

This book was extremely slow and very boring to read. I kept reading about a page a day just to finish it. The Hero was redundant, as was the book. Their love story took forever to progress and the H kept repeating the same feelings and thoughts- that he could not love. He was boorish, selfish, difficult to communicate with and just horrible. Don't waste your time with this one. You've pretty much read the entire love story by just reading the back of the book.

I don't know what the four and five star reviewers were reading. Don't mean to offend anyone, but this book is boring. The H is HORRIBLE and the h is a DOORMAT .The other two one star reviewers are spot on.Have not been able to finish this book.This author goes on my no-no list

I didn’t like the book , too much discussion on the past .He lives in the past and hurt his wife .Get therapy man .

It was a slow read. It could have been better .The story had a plot, just was interesting enough.

Can two people overcome so many hurdles to find true love, do they have a second chance at finding that love, Lisa Martinez hopes that her estranged husband Maximiliano (Max) will come to love her the way she loves him to see what love can be, get ready for an up and down hill battle that will keep you turning pages.Lisa walked out on her husband and is asking for a divorce oh they have lots of passion and desire and yes Lisa loves him dearly, after the life that Lisa had growing up she dreams of the true HEA with all of the fabulous feelings and she thought that her love would be enough but sadly it doesn’t look like it will be that is until they spend one passionate night together and Lisa becomes pregnant will this get Max to change his mind about love?Max is never going to love, anytime he has loved someone they have left him and he does not want to hurt Lisa but when she falls pregnant he is determined to be a good father not like his father was, but still he is sure there will be no love. But with his half-brother and his wife happily in love and Lisa pushing maybe there is something about love for them all.This was a very bumpy ride to a beautiful HEA there were times I could have hit Max but Lisa was just so beautiful and strong throughout and never gave up on her dream for her HEA and when Max finally gives in and owns up to loving Lisa you will smile and the epilogue was just the best and do I see a story for Max’s sister I hope so. Thank you MS Thomas for a great story.

Will they ... or won't they? The big question as we dash into this holiday romance is whether Max and Lisa will be able to salvage their marriage. He doesn't want to risk his heart, she has already fallen hard for him and only wants to be loved in return. Will they be able to find a common ground to build on or will they walk away? The characters are intriguing and I enjoyed their connection and learning about the past that made him who he is today. The one thing that I thought would have added more to the plot was to actually bring their jobs more into the mix of daily life. They were supposed to be working together, yet we never really saw that interaction.Maximiliano Martinez has a family past that leads him to close himself off from the world. He never planned to marry, but he was so taken with Lisa in the beginning that he thought he could make it work when they rushed into a wedding. He broke her heart when he told her he couldn't love her and thought they should end their marriage.Lisa Martinez fell hard for Max and even though he hurt her tremendously, she still fell into his arms again a couple of months ago when they were working late one night. She mistakenly thought it meant more than it did, but he rectified her thinking on that as soon as the morning came! Their marriage is close to being over ... she's just waiting on him to sign the papers ... only now she's added a little something to the pot that he just might not be able to walk away from so easily ... an heir!

I loved this book the conversations and friction between our couple was so tense i just had to finish this in one sitting, a must read !!

Super poor read

Would you believe at times this book had me wanting to give the main character a good talking to. Arrogant, insensitive, positively awful at times. Talk about a male pig. Wake up and get some sense would be more like it. The storyline does finally get a happy ending and about time.
