This is ready to gift as-is. It comes nicely packaged and ready for presentation so if you're sending it directly to someone it still arrives looking nice. It's pretty and the colors are vibrant. The mug is a little bigger than a standard coffee mug, but not jumbo sized. The spoon is a little flimsy, but since it's meant for stirring and not eating off of it will do its job.

So when I came across this set (in Vine program listings), which caught me eye with "thank you gifts" in the title, it was a no brainer. I placed my order.The mugs arrives in a gift-worthy box. When you remove the lid, you'll find a thank you card. Then you open the flaps and find a really pretty mug. The colors are perfect for a celestial themed mug, and the glazing is well done. The moon and stars are of gold-metallic paint (probably not good to use in the microwave) and look beautiful. To the side is a cork-backed coaster. And, on the upper-side of the box, is a gold spoon with a star & moon motif on its end. Overall, this is a very nicely done gift set.I gave it to my spouse after she returned from shopping. She was well pleased with it and thought it was beautiful. She has relayed that it holds a good amount of her beverage of choice (usually tea) so she is quite happy with that. She also love the spoon which, she says, is super-cute and works well.As a gift set, I think this is a terrific choice. Bought this mug for my sister, didn't realize you can't put it in microwave (has gold flakes in it). My sister is elderly and forgetful so I have to return, afraid she might forget not to put in microwave. The mug is beautiful and very nice quality, just don't want the risk of her blowing up her microwave...

I LOVE this mug and use it often. It is so pretty. The gold metallic details are lovely, but do NOT put it in the microwave. I knew not to from previous experience, but tried it just to be able to accurately review that fact. The spoon is dainty and lovely, too. This is a beautiful gift item and I definitely recommend it!

This is designed to be a gift, but I'm going to keep it for myself.This mug comes in a nice box. You could add a ribbon and bow to dress it up as a gift and be done. Upon opening the box there is a small card that says "Thanks a Million." Then you find the ombre "You're a Star" cork-backed coaster that matches the mug. There is also a moon & stars spoon to stir in whatever you want to add to your daily drink of choice. The mug itself is just lovely! The blue ombre paint pattern is pretty, but the gold flecks are the star of the show. They add that extra something to make this mug special. No matter how you turn it, the speckles catch the light during the day and at night so it really does seem like the stars are shining.I should note that this mug is NOT MICROWAVE OR DISHWASHER SAFE because of the metallic paint used for the speckles. I just heat up water in my 2-cup measurer (the mug holds just over 16 oz) and pour it into the mug to make my tea. If you're a coffee person you're all set. I always hand wash my mugs anyway so I can use a baking soda paste to remove any coffee/tea residue so it doesn't bother me.I wouldn't hesitate to give this as a gift!
