Zaran Saffron, Superior Saffron Threads (Super Negin) Premium grade Saffron Spice for Paella, Risotto, Tea's, and all Culinary Uses (2 Grams)

Being new to saffron threads, I found myself reviewing and purchasing several brands and it lead me to one of the best brands I came across. Although I have a few different brands as my options, I find myself using Zaran more than others. The appearance, taste and smell is so amazing. It’s the one I reach for time and time again!! You can’t go wrong with Zaran!! But with confidence in my opinion!!

The price point was quite reasonable for saffron and the aroma is incredible. I am very pleased.

The quality of this Zaran Saffron is definitely impressive. The threads are long, deep red, and have a very potent aroma right after opening the jar. I used it for a seafood paella and a small amount was enough to give the dish a rich golden color and that distinct earthy flavor.The reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price point. While the "Super Negin" grade is clearly superior, it is quite expensive for 2 grams. Also, the packaging is nice, but I wish the jar was a bit easier to seal tightly to preserve the freshness longer.Overall, if you are looking for premium saffron for special culinary occasions, this is a solid choice. Great flavor, just wish it was slightly more affordable.

First time trying saffron. I wondered what it tasted like because it was so prized. Well, It smells and tastes like leather. which sounds awful but somehow, it blends into foods and is more subtle than munching on a saddle. Made into tea, you will get the bouquet of leather possibly adding mint or lavender would disguise it if you don't care for it. The mood enhancing benefits are worth it to me.

Took off 2 stars because this is what it looked like upon opening the tin first time. Lots of space in there that coulda fit more product. I’m sorry but this stuff is so expensive you can at least fill up the tin a tad more. Quality is great though but the value/amount for the money is 👎🏽👎🏽 I’ll be going back to Lion brand after this, they at least fill your tin up enough.
