I originally purchased this dress on sale, on a total whim. I am hosting a shower in a couple months and wanted a new dress. Unfortunately, this won't be it. It has a sparkle to it, that is absolutely beautiful. I don't want to over shine my sister. I tried the dress on in front of my Mom, initially intent on returning. As frugal as she is, she made me keep it because it's just so gorgeous.

The fabric and the quality of the dress is beautiful, however, the size does not fit at all even though I bought 4 sizes large.I I usually wear size 12 but, based on the recommendation, I bought size 16. It was not closing at all. Way too small. So if you are looking for size to fit, beginning size 12, do not count on fit, because it will not.

I got size 14. I was a size 12 in another JH dress and it fit well, this one seems to be tight or runs small, as if for teens missy or petite. The material is elegant and high quality but its scratch, uncomfortable. It has three belt loops. I will use the belt like a headband, turban or braid sache. It has a zipper in zhe back and is knee length. It flairs out a little on the skirt. I don't love the cape sleeves, as the open, so i will hand tie small ribbons to keep them closed to cover my arms, like a bow, fixed in place. The waist seems snug. I am planning to shred another 20 pounds and the dress will fit even better. It's got an embossed texture, like a 3D craft ribbon. The material is unique. It's a perfect Easter dress, or even in October, for bridal parties, baby showers, or a dance. I'm wearing it on stage to sing and play piano, as a concert dress. It's conservative and feminine. I just don't think it's comfortable for frequent use. I couldn't wait to step out of it. It not stretchy. Its for an event that is just 2-4 hours, like dinner, Mothers day brunch or graduation. I will wear to church in spring or summer or even fall. its a year around print in a botanical floral blossom burst. it's lined and has satin ribbons to hang. JH is a slept on brand and needs more clout. It's slightly high end. It's owned by a fashion conglomerate and the tag points to a website promoting their portfolio. Its a brand sold at Dillards also. I think this is a sweet dress for a young adult, or any age, teen to mature. I would size up on this one if you are in between. I am 151 pounds range, 5'4.5" age 46. It's elegant but not silky. It's got a rough texture, like plastic or some sort of blend of man made materials. It could be flammable. I don't smoke or light candles but I don't think it's flame resistant if you use hot tools, like hair styling. I wouldn't cook wearing it, or use a propane bbq, or gas stove. But it is picnic worthy, or walking in a park or wearing to a festival or art museum. The sleeves will catch in zhee wind at the beach. Its an unusual shape, because mist dresses spin and turn when twirling at the hem, this one shows movement of you raise your arms to dance. You should like your arm shape to carry this. It hides sort of. It's kinda cool. Keeping.

This dress is just lovely....the lavender and navy color combo is different...the dress has some shimmer shine on it.....very feminine dress...with split sleeves....looks better than photo...
