GOOD BAR BAD MOUNTING SCREWS
I think that the product will end up great but don't count on the screws/plastic anchors. Ordered some metal.

It works but a couple of issues
I shattered my ankle and therefore I have been struggling and trying to fix issues in my bathroom to make it more easy for me to get around on one foot. Hence the need for a grab bar to lift me up from the toilet and to help me get into the shower. So I ordered this bar to replace a plastic towel bar that is in front of the toilet and at the entrance to the shower. Here are my thoughts:PROS:1) The bar is a heavy gauge metal and is solid.2) When attached to studs it is anchored to the wall well and will not easily tear away from the wall.3) Installation is typical and easy to do. You will need a drill and stud finder for installation.CONS:1) The bar is not textured to give one a good grip (Pic 1.) If one's hand is wet, your hand could slip on this bar. Most bars I see in public places has the diamond pattern in the metal giving an excellent surface for grabbing. So, this bar loses functionality because the hand is able to slip.2) The welds are not cleaned up and show signs of rust (pics 2 and 3). Now this will get covered up with the cover plates, but this is a bathroom and is a wet environment. How long until you have rust stains on the wall?3) The cover plates have the parts number stamped on the outside for everyone to see. Usually, if there is a part number, it is stamped on the inside so when assembled no one sees it. This makes the bar look cheap.CONCLUSION:This is a grab bar that will work, but it is lacking in quality of welds, lacking in looks, and lacking grab texture.

Helpful for the shower!
This is a sturdy grab bar for the shower. It's 18 in long, seems to be made very well, and can hold up to 500 pounds. It was easy to install and it's pretty handy.

Grab bar
18" grab bar as advertised. Comes with 6 mounting screws. Feels solid. I'll update post with another picture after install.
