Disappointing [ONE STAR]
I like fall asleep to MP3s... Recordings of rainstorms or ocean waves, or an old-time radio program. Earbuds are a must, so as not to wake up Snookie Pookums. My usual earphones/earbuds (whatever they are called these days) are dollar-store items. They work OK, but they’re cheaply made and typically not very long-lived. I’m lucky if I get a month or two of service out of a set before one of the ear buds comes apart or an internal conductor breaks, leaving one or both ear pods silent. At literally ten times the cost of the dollar-store item, I expected that the Aolcev 3.5mm Wired Headphones might represent some kind of step-up. Sadly, no.Yeah, they basically work. But they look as cheap and feel as cheap as the dollar-store variety. Why pay 10 bucks for something I can buy for one dollar? Worse, this particular set had a defect right out of the box—one of buds rattles when you move it (something’s loose inside) and so it doesn’t produce the same sound as its non-rattling brother. Junk.Sorry, I can’t recommend this.

Tiny Castenets
They're shiny. That's the best thing I have to say about these ear buds. Each one is tiny and silver and they rattle like miniature castanets. The sound quality is sub-par and don't be fooled, there's no volume control. I got these because they have little extensions that you can grip with your fingers to help insert them into your ear. But the design isn't useful -- mine wouldn't stay in. Apparently, the inline switch is for turning the microphone on and off. Frankly, I never got that far. Hearing the drivers rattling around inside the casing made me not want to bother as I won't be keeping them.
