I used it to remove rust on the screws of a19th century concertina. The screws had rusted and swelled, so were becoming too tight in their threads. These screws are quite difficult to obtain, so I was keen to restore them without damage. After a very light rub with Scotchbrite I dropped them into a small amount of Evaporust and left them for two hours, then rinsed them thoroughly. The good metal on the screws had become clean, with a light grey colour. The rust had gone, leaving a black pitted surface where the rust had eaten in. This was a really good result, giving me restored screws without removing any good metal. I soaked the screws in GT85 (or WD40) for a couple of minutes, then let them dry off completely, gave them a final polish with tissue and now they are back in use. The Evaporust that I used was only lightly discoloured, so I was able to top it up a little and use it on the next project. So it is a very effective product, which I will certainly keep on using. I really like that is safely disposable for the home user. I have only given it 4 stars because of the eye-watering cost. I had assumed from the photo that I ordered a large amount, possibly 2.5 litres or 5 litres, but I didn't check (stupid I know), but in fact it was only1 litre. This is really expensive stuff! I understand some of the reason why- it has shipped from the USA. So be aware before ordering. Having said that, I will buy more as I need it.

This is a great product very powerful and yet is biodegradable. I have been very pleased with the results and would buy again

Wow what a product! I had some tools I was about to throw away because of the rust, saw this raved about and thought I'd give it a try. Overnight EVERY SINGLE BIT of rust had gone, from saws, drill bits, spanners, Pliers etc etc, literally just gone.Cons: Clean up was a bit of a slog, it can turn metal very dark grey/black, but only affected raw steels, do it outside, or in a separate garage as it absolutely REEKS, but a small price to pay. And apparently this have no shelf life, no use life, and no indicator when it needs replacing. You'll just get up one morning and it won't work anymore. 9/10

I recently purchased the Evapo-Rust C700 Rust Remover, 946 ml, with high hopes based on its claims of being a powerful and effective rust cleaner. Unfortunately, my experience with this product was disappointing.Despite following the instructions precisely and allowing ample time for the solution to work, the results were underwhelming. The rust on my tools and metal objects was only partially removed, and in some cases, there was no noticeable improvement at all. I had to reapply the product multiple times, but the results remained inconsistent and unsatisfactory.Additionally, the amount of product required to achieve even minimal results meant that the 946 ml bottle was quickly depleted, making it an expensive and inefficient solution for larger projects.Overall, the Evapo-Rust C700 Rust Remover did not live up to its promises. Its inconsistent effectiveness and high usage rate make it a poor value for the money. I would not recommend this product to anyone seeking a reliable rust removal solution.
