Brilliantly executed novel
This book is extremely well written. The ease of vocabulary used allows for a smooth introduction. However the plot is exciting with many twists and turns which keeps the reader engaged throughout.Amazing piece of literature

Great books
I really like these novels. Well written although sometimes the editing is a bit questionable as the wrong word sometimes creeps in. Have read 12 and 11 and looking forward to 10

A total page turner
Robert Gold’s second novel must be one of the best books I’ve read. I would even say that it’s better than the first one, which is amazing because Twelve Secrets was brilliant. Right from the very beginning we dive straight into the story and become totally immersed in the world of Ben Harper and Dani Cash. There are a few references to Ben’s recent discovery about the death of his mother, but the main plot of this story goes even deeper into intrigue and, as the title suggests, the many lies that people tell to protect those closest to them. Needless to say, there are lots of red herrings as the story twists and turns its course throughout the book and quite a few times I was caught in the trap of believing that everything had been fully revealed. Of course, it goes without saying that the story wasn’t over until the final sentence. Even then, there’s the usual thread hanging in the air, which we just know will lead into the next chapter in this magnificent series.I should also add that I’m loving the setting. I grew up in Isleworth, living opposite the West Middlesex Hospital (a place that is mentioned in the story) and had relatives living in Twickenham. I spent a lot of my childhood days walking along the Thames towpath from Isleworth into Richmond and am familiar with a lot of the places mentioned – although no doubt they have long since changed from how I remember them. I thank Robert Gold for bringing my younger days back to me and giving me such pleasure and enjoyment in his extremely talented story telling. The books are beautifully written and totally captivate the reader.

Eleven Liars, a great thriller
I really enjoyed this.I'm not going into the plot, I dont want to spoil it, you can read the jacket to get the idea. This is the second book set in the village of Haddley and it's characters. As the first one, Twelve Secrets it's a book full of surprises. Possibly better than the first one it was a book I couldn't put down and if you read it, like me, you will be eager of the next one.

WOW fantastic read
WOW I really enjoyed Eleven Liars (Ben Harper book 2) by Robert Gold (1 of 3). This thriller interlinks with Robert's first thriller Twelve Secrets.Ben Harper returns to Haddley and is still working as a journalist/reporter. On his way home he sees the derelict community centre is on fire and he spots somebody trapped inside and runs inside to rescue him or her but then the person runs off before being identified. Was this arson or or an accident all is revealed when a skeleton is uncovered in the ashes of the fire and Ben comes to the terrifying conclusion that this crime goes back decades and is very close to home and there are many in Haddley who are liars and keeping secrets from being revealed.

A slow burn delight
This was such a great follow up to Twelve Secrets. It’s a slow burn mystery, which I loved - seeing the secrets revealed and finding out how they link together is so good. In the last third of the book, I had some idea of what was going on, but there were many times where I was WTF-ing from one chapter to the next!I found this book really easy to read & was quickly sucked back into Ben’s life. The characters - both main & supporting - are vivid & distinctive, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next instalment.

it was an ok read
Maybe I was expecting more of the book from the rave reviews. I did finish the book and the storyline, which was quite interesting, came to end with the mystery concluded, however there is the ongoing case for the next book. I didn’t gel with the characters at all so I do not think I will be bothered with the final book.

All comes together at the end…
A relatively innocuous set up and mid section made for a classic 3* cop thriller. But then it all came together at the end, and even though the pay off was filled with lots of exposition it is clear the writer is settling in for a long series. Looking forward to the next one now!
