Q: Based on the picture, I couldn't figure out how the food got its grill marks. Why doesn't the spacing & length of marks match the grill patterns?

Most likely that food was prepared on a different grill for better presentation. They probably weren't counting on people being quite so observant. Unless maybe it comes with a straight rack attachment.

Q: can you use in a gas stove top??

I believe in the ad for this product it said that it could be used with gas or electric stoves. I would suggest, however, going to the manufacturer's website and checking. Item is Chefmaster KTGR5 13-inch grill pan.

Q: can you use it on ceramic glass top stove?

No glass tops, ceramic tops...electric and gas with burners only and if you jack the heat to high and put two drops of water in it...guess what it will smoke. You have to start on low with it half full..you have to adjust it while cooking and make sure it keeps water inside of it. If you attempt to wash it before it is completely cool it will flake off the finish....if you do not clean your stuff and continue to cook on it ...eventually you will burn down your kitchen from the grease build up just like on a normal nasty stovetop.

Q: My stove has a double burner top, not individual... will this sit okay on a double burner cover? I wish there was a way to include a pic.

I looked up double burner cook top online, and the way it looks to me, as long as it is a flat surface, it should be fine. That's just my opinion. It is up to you to try it. If it doesn't work, then send it back.
