Tons of power but hold on tight
Works well and fuel efficiency was better than expected. If you have rocky ground beware it will snag and rip out of your hands. Use was easy and itโs not all that heavy. For what I used it for, it was worth the price versus renting one.

Awesome auger
Excellent power. Started right up in 20 degree weather and ripped through the frozen ground(digging deck footings 3โ deep). Ground was frozen for about 7 inches and went through with little to no problem. Using the 12โ as well. Love that it has different options for size holes and the extension bars. Completely worth it

Game changer
This is a great product. Cut down digging time immensely. Only problem I had was the extension broke, had it re-welded and itโs better than ever.

Wont start
I have tried everything that I can think of and everything that the customer service person (by e-mail) has had me do. It just wont start. Fresh gas and new 2 stroke oil mixed at 50:1. Re-gapped the plug to 0.60 per owner's manual (it was at 0.25). I am ready to throw it in the trash and go rent an auger like I wanted to do in the first place but my son talked me into buying this thing.

Good value
I used to use post hole diggers almost every week when I built decks for a living 35 years ago. I used a two man digger and it was still miserable every time we hit a rock. I rented them because purchasing one was so expensive. This digger is much smaller than the ones I used to use and a small fraction of the price. I was skeptical that it could do the job, but figured I would try as it was less than a few days of rental. I am a big guy (about 290lbs) and it sent me flying as it hit rocks. That sounds bad, but it a question of physics - is it easier for the digger to go through rock or throw me across the lawn. I was tossed across the lawn. It has plenty of power. After feeling like I was breaking my wrist a few times, I found the best method was to use the throttle to ease downward and feel the rocks as I went pulling up to clear the hole of dirt often. I would adjust the direction and position the bit to knock the rock loose. Once I got the knack of the digger, I found it was easy to control and its light weight was a feature not a flaw. I could pull it out of the hole quickly which pulled a lot of dirt out. Sometimes the best option is to set the digger aside and pull rocks out by hand, but I also used a wet/dry shop vac and pressure washer to clear the hole and dig when I was near our propane line. That method make a mud pit around the hole and is no fun. However, the combination of digger, shop vac, pressure washer, and hand tools made the job of many post holes for a fence reasonable for one over weight soon to be senior citizen. My unit starts easily, but I am used to two cycle engines. It uses the same fuel mix as my Stihl equipment (50:1) so it was easy to keep fueled. In fact, I did my whole fencing project and didn't need to refuel once. So far it has worked for me and was already a bargain over renting the equipment for a few days to do the immediate job. Now I have a digger for other projects.

Not A toy! Very powerful machine!
The auger arrived quickly and packaged in a double cardboard box. Seemed to be adequate and everything inside was perfect. Assembly is just attaching the bit you want to use. Other than that, its ready to go. Just add fuel. Unit fired right up. I dug 2 holes so far with the 12" bit. This thing is powerful! Hang on tight or your going for a ride! This auger is going to make my pole building so much easier! The quality is good and the Auger is easy to use! This beats the ol poast hole digger by far!

This auger was awesome!
I needed to do 18 test holes in various spots on property in central Ontario Canada. Everything was in the box and easy to unpack and setup. Machine started 2nd pull out of the box and runs flawlessly. From tree roots to rocky soil the auger pushed through it all. I used to rent these when needed not anymore after finally buying this one. The machine is light but very strong, the throttle trigger is sensitive enough that you can properly manage the dig without breaking your wrists! It has a lot of power and after the 18 holes completed I am convinced this was worth the buy, it has all the accessories, runs great and easy to use.

Powerful, easy start and run great ...
Hard working machine with lots of power. Bits are easy to put on and off. My soil is hard so I start with small bit and then enlarge the holes with bigger bits. Starts easy and runs great. The negative would be the plastic cover that I hit with the pull rope and was replaced promptly. Great customer service. Good value, good power, good machine overall and good customer service.

It does the job !!
I bought this a couple years ago and now I have lots of practice with it, which warrants a review. Looking at it, I wouldn't call it 'professional grade', with wires protruding, plastic switches, and, to be honest, handles for only one person was a surprise. The auger bits seem sloppy when attached but I never had a problem with them. They go on, and off easily. Ok, that is all the negative I have. To its credit, this beast eats through hard compacted clay easily. If you have normal dirt, or sandy soil, this post hole digger is all you need. Heaven help you if you are using it in hard packed prehistoric clay, and hit a rock. The torque literally knocked me on my ass a few times, so I decided to get assistance from my wife, to keep it from spinning me into a tree. At 270 lbs, 6' 2" tall I would never have suspected a 54cc engine could launch me, but it can, and did. No problems when starting, no problems running, and maybe once or twice it really bogged down on some roots, but NEVER did it stall while digging. It simply stops turning the bottom, and spins the operator if you aren't ready for it. I found that, to be the most impressive part of the Proyama. Is it built to last?? I really can't say anything about the gear box, but the plastic, switches/throttle and wires look, and feel cheap. Until it breaks, I'm very satisfied with it.
