The LED strips I'm using will, taken together, require about 250 watts. I first used those power supplies that are in a metallic case with screw terminals for the house current and outputs, but the fans on those drove me nuts. I tried some others, but they either got too hot or were ultimately under powered. These? These seem to rock. A little more expensive, but no fan and 400 watts. They get pretty warm (call it about 125 degrees F) but never so hot that I couldn't keep my hand on them for more than 10 seconds (which is one of the tests of how hot something is). They are well built, they "feel" nice (which I know sounds weird, but they do feel like a quality piece of equipment). I like that they are semi-potted, which distributes heat evenly. I like that their aluminum case is their heatsink. I purchased four of them, and run each of them under 250 watt load for 12 hours each with no problems. If they fail me, I will come back and adjust the review, but, as of right now, I really, really like these things, and I hope they don't' let me down.
