Fantastic unitVery good dac

Very pleased with the DAC. Am using it with Node 2i and fosi mono blocks. Amazed at what you get for the money. No firmware issues as had read online. Good neutral sound but haven't delved into the many settings yet or run in properly. The remote,is also very handy!

Thoroughly impressed by this DAC+amplifier unit. As many know, SMSL produces very cost effective products which very rarely disappoint users or youtube promoters (self proclaimed "reviewers"): the problem is that it comes with new models every month, often with very similar carachteristics, what Steve Jobs always thought was one of the biggest mistake a brand can make. It does make what to choose harder for the buyer.I have beem debating within DO300, DO300EX and DO400. Unlike YouTube promoters, I do not believe that going above this tier produces results appreciable by my ears, and that is based on padt experience and not prejudice.I ended up choosing the DO400 as I am curious to test the ES9039 chipset which should complement well the R2R DAC I already have. The powerful amplifier was a plus to which I was giving low weiight in choosing the device among those (in fact the DO300 does not have any and it was still a contender): and I was dead wrong. The built-in amplifier is excellent. Very powerful, good gain and a clean, detailed sound that does not sound sterile or boring. It is that good. My other (R2R) DAC+ Amp device costs 1300£ and, as of now (early days) I am not sure I prefer it to the DO400. A bit more spacious, but the DO400 sounds cleaner from the headphone out and not brighter, as I was expecting.Tested with HE1000 Stealth, Fiio FT5, Dan Clark Audio Ether 2, HD600 and HD650 (thus far).I wouldn’t hesitate if you are debating: buy this one. It is an incredible deal.
