Did not know that, my previous Supercarb filter water pressure dropped so thought I need to buy new one so got this Ultracarb filter.As it came out, it's just actual residue outside filter you can easily wash off under running water, filter is rated somewhat of 7000l so if family of 4 people ( 2 adults 2 kids) will drink each one 2l a water every day religiously ( I seriously doubt it ) then it should last well over 2 years.Great filter, really good filtration , very happy with it!

This is a gvery wat product, you can certainly taste the difference and it is amazing the colour it turns so it is certainly working. I have these filters for both a house connected to the mains water supply and a private water supply. The mains house has so much chlorine in the water that you can smell and taste the difference. Would highly recommend this product

Have been running this filter for a month or so now. It is very effective but has slowed the flow rate dramatically. Previously the flow rate in my cold tap was very fast, so I wasn’t worried about the change, but this is too slow. I won’t buy again.
